I had no clue that today is Columbus Day.
    Happy Thanksgiving my Canadian neighbors.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently cold and pouring rain! (I'm not sure of the temperature ... my weather station must be having a glitch this morning!)
Off to work, hopefully the rain stops so I can get some work done, then off to the rink tonight.
Have a great day all :)

Morning....no rain here in over a month, lot of crunching sounds when I walk around outside. But at least the temps are getting bearable after today and tomorrow no more 80 to 90+ temps. Now we need some rain to bring the sad plants back to a level of caring whether they live or die and get their misery behind them.

Everything is perfect here. The colors are brilliant. The only fly in the ointment is Winter awaits. Such is life.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast.
Off to work, where fall cleanup continues. I'm trying to keep ahead of the cold weather!
No skating tonight, I might get a little 'me time'
Have a great day all :)

Netty, after the hard work you do, a bit of "Me time" is a necessity.
    I hope you managed some.

This is shaping up to be a very good Thursday! First, a cold front is supposed to move in at noontime, so the Brunswick stew I am making for dinner will go down a treat. Secondly, we went to early vote and left the house and 45 minutes later were back, having voted with the whole experience being quite pleasant. And third, all three cats are lounging on the porch, looking adorable and being available for petting, and any treats that are offered.
Yep, this is a good day so far!

The cool front is moving through now, not dropping the temp all that much yet but it is very nice knowing that the temp we have now will only drop instead of climbing to the 100 deg mark.
We voted yesterday and except for one of the 'helpers' having nothing to say that wasn't 'snarky' the experience was good.
Wizard our Russian Blue is napping on our bed....talk about being snarky!! He has a college degree in that.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. Weatherman says it will clear this morning.
Off to work (TGIF) where fall cleanup is well under way. Yesterday it rained all day and so I got to do inside jobs and wash windows. Fun.
Tomorrow is my families Thanksgiving dinner and that is what I have my mind on today!
Have a great day all :)

Anyone for Brunswick Stew? I made it yesterday, we are having it for dinner tonight, and I have five containers of it in the freezer. I'd like to send Netty some for her Thanksgiving family dinner, but I don't think it would get there in time!
Today is chilly (for Texas, which means 62 degrees) so I'm harvesting herbs and getting the barn shelf ready to stash the perennial herbs that I can't leave outdoors.
Husband is in the workshop making a linen cabinet for the bathroom remodel so all three cats are supervising him. I may be able to harvest herbs without cats crawling in the basket!

33 degrees here when I crawled out of my warm bed.
Some early voting I see. We have voted absentee for
several years. WE drop the ballots in the secure box,
checked to be sure they are accounted for.
Does Brunswick stew have beef in it? If not, I'm in. It
has been 20some years since I have eaten beef. When
I learned my digestive system didn't handle it, I quit.

Growingpains, Brunswick Stew (named after Brunswick county in Virginia) is made with chicken. If you like, I can send you the recipe. It is a true stew, containing lima beans, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, and a minimal amount of salt and sugar. It takes about three to four hours to make, and is better the next day.

Thank you, Marlingardener, the ingredients make it easy to figure out. I will copy them and give it a try. I'm not the greatest cook since my family has grown up. Thus, TRY! :fingerscrossed: Thank you!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 2°C and sunny.
We are a week late, but today is Turkey day and I am excited!! Baked a gluten, soy and dairy free chocolate cake (for my grandson) and it is delicious!! I really didn't think it would be, but it really is moist and delicious! We are having turkey, mashed potatoes and all the fixins too, and lots of vegetable side dishes.
And of course we will be talking about everything we are thankful for!
Have a great day all :)
