A good day for us, and a good day to you all!
I went to the grocery this morning and the meat manager had saved beef bones for me (he knows I like to make broth), I was thanked by several workers for the goodie tray I brought in last week to celebrate the holidays, and I found all I needed in the produce department to use in Christmas Eve dinner.
There is so much to be happy about--small things, but good things. I hope all of you find small good things that make you happy!

Sweetie made delicious quiche, two so will have some for breakfast tomorrow also. Dark, rainy day to relax in front of the fire. Weather is wet but surprisingly mild. Hard decision to make: read, nap or YouTube videos. Life is great ;)

Treated us to pastries from the German Bakery. That with a cup of coffee and then I’m out to work in the yard. What a wonderful luxury of food and warm weather.

I wish we had a german bakery around here! What did you get Jewell?
Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast.
I just realized that it has been a bit since I've been on here and I should update you all on my mothers condition.
I'm sorry to tell you that she passed away peacefully on the 15th of December in her home. No funeral due to Covid restrictions.
She got a chance to say goodbye to everyone she loved ... her husband of 63 years, her 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
We have much comfort in the fact that she felt her life was complete and she got her final wish of passing at home quickly surrounded with loved ones.
I am home today, catching up on laundry and cleaning and spending time with my dog and family.
And catching up on the emails etc I have missed while down in the city with no internet. Amazing how the internet has become such an important part of our lives.
Have a great day all :)

Netty, my sympathies to you and your family. Your mother had a good life, good daughters, and a good passing. Take comfort in all that you did for her.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 2°C and raining. There is a special weather statement in effect for my region, with heavy rain, changing to freezing rain and then changing to snow. It looks like its going to be a white Christmas. Even so, I am not feeling very Christmassy.
I'm going to try and harvest the carrots this morning, not sure how they fared through all the cold weather and snow we've had. With any luck they wont be a total loss.
Have a great day all :)

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! It is cold here--32 degrees but at least the wind has died down. I'll be baking pumpkin pie and making saucizen (a sausage wrapped in yeast dough and baked). The saucizen are for a lady that was reminiscing about the ones her aunt made, a happy childhood memory. She has had a rough year and this may cheer her up. Food is very therapeutic!
Netty, stay safe and warm, and I have heard that carrots left in the ground during cold weather are sweeter. Hope the carrots are as sweet as you.

Good luck with the carrots, Netty.
Merry Christmas . How is it going with your daughter’s training?

Today we are up and attem this morning, getting ready for christmas day. We are just us two and while we are going to take it easy, our big thing today will be the meal tonight. We may be busy with prepping for a while.

We wish you all a very happy christmas and good health going into the coming year.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -5°C and snowing. It snowed a good part of the night and the night before as well. Things look pretty when covered in fresh snow.
As pretty as it is, it's not ideal for traveling and I have to travel back down to Dads this afternoon.
Have a great day all :)
