    Its officially my weekend!

Overcast and threatening rain this morning, so I nipped out to the gardens and picked squash, sugar peas, and lettuce. It seems the lettuce is coming to an end (can you hear my husband yelling "Hip, hip, hurrah" ?). I prepped vegetables for a Salad Nicoise tonight and plan to take it easy this afternoon.
The cats and hens are happy and we are all hoping you have a happy day, too!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast.
Another busy day yesterday and I am a little stiff from planting 30 cedar trees. There are still 12 more to plant today but I'm thinking its hubbys turn to dig today.
I also got the raised beds weeded and watered before I went to visit Dad. I had big plans for gardening today however I think I need to shift those plans and get my daughter out of the house today. With all the lock downs, home schooling, and her dad and I so busy with work and projects around the house, I think its very important for her mental health that I get her out for the house for a while today. We will head over to her sisters and spend some time with her and the kids. We will leave Dad home to plant cedars haha
Have a great day all :)

    Good Sunday evening all
Haven't done a lot today, it's been too hot.
Every Sunday we phone our son to see if he's alright and he is.

I recorded a couple of programmes featuring Tina Turner last week end, one was a two hour concert from 2009 and the other was a compilation of clips of songs she'd sung on BBC programmes over several decades. Including one from 1989. I got round to watching them during the week, I'd not heard this song in decades, but I liked it enough to take the time and the trouble to teach myself to play it on my Tyros 5.

It's so old, that it was released on a 45rpm record and I found a copy on eBay for £2.19, post free, so when it arrives it's going in one of my jukeboxes.

Happy Wednesday, aka "Hump Day"! It's pretty warm today, predicted to get into the high 90's.
Our Texas energy commission has asked everyone to conserve energy by, and I am not joking, "do not use ovens or washing machines, and unplug everything you are not using." So, we are to run around the house chewing on a cold sandwich, unplugging lamps, while wearing dirty clothes. The danger to overloading the energy grid is because "we didn't plan on hot weather." Excuse me, we are in TEXAS which is known for hot weather. The outage that caused deaths this winter was because "we didn't plan on cold weather." Gee, often winter brings cold weather . . . .
Otherwise, I watered the tomatoes and cucumbers, dug some potatoes to have on hand in the kitchen, and petted cats. Petting cats is very calming.

Good Thursday morning all, this morning had a bit of rain, haven't had any for weeks. Now I can relax a bit without any watering to do.
Hubby was supposed to be going for his appointment to see a consultant about his hernia but his back is playing up and he doesn't want to go, but having a phone consultation instead that will be this afternoon at 1.45pm.

Netty, it sounds as if you are enjoying your rain day!
This is Friday, so we are having dinner in front of the TV watching PBS News Hour and Washington Week. No cooking, just nuking for tonight.
I did a bit in the vegetable gardens, cutting broccoli side shoots (which I had not expected) and some squash.
Laundry drying while I'm cleaning kitchen counter tops. Why am I such a messy cook?
