Oh, how awful for Canada to suffer from this heat! I really, really sympathize and hope the heat wave misses you.:fingerscrossed:
I had a good day in the kitchen, making Marinara sauce with our fresh tomatoes and then doing little tasks around the house.
Husband sprayed the fruit trees in the orchard and tilled the potato bed. We've had a "bits and pieces" day"--doing little jobs we have put off.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently 22°C and sunny.
I had a lovely visit with Dad this morning, then went and bought my daughters birthday gift. Her birthday isn't until the 16th but I thought I would get it while I was out. She is going to love it! Came home and stained my new chairs and then cut some grass. I learned how to work the zero turn mower today too! I'm heading out in a few minutes to do the task of deadheading all the peony's and do a little weeding. We had some rain this week and I can not believe how much the veggie garden has grown!

    Good Sunday morning all
It's light showers all day so won't be doing much in the garden.
Tomorrow hubby has his hernia repair operation so been preparing for that.
He's had a Covid test and they haven't got back so it's fine.
I've got to change the bed clothes and he has a shower and clean clothes before tonight to stop any infections getting into the hospital.
    Have a good day all.

Good Monday afternoon all. Currently 29°C and clouding over. There is thunder rumbling in the distance and it seems to be heading this way. I'm ok with more rain ... saves me from having to go out and water my new hedges!
A very busy day at work today, added to the heat and I am exhausted. Early night for me tonight, thats for sure!
Have a great day all :)

Today was not the best for me. I did something stupid to my left knee, and was hobbling around with a brace and taking Advil (an over the counter pain pill). My husband, bless him, picked the garden produce, took care of the hens tonight, and we had pizza for dinner.
Tomorrow will be better, I know. We did get rain this afternoon, so no watering is needed and the temperatures have been much lower than normal.

Soooo your part of Texas got that rain today, got a little dark gray here but nothing fell from the sky except poop from low flying birds.
Try Aleve for the knee, it's really good for joint pain.

    Good Tuesday morning all
@marlingardener hope that your knee gets better soon.

Yesterday at around 5pm hubby came out of hospital after his hernia repair operation and he's fine, I think that i was more worried than him. But no dog walking and no lifting for 6 weeks maybe 5. Have a good day all.

Very sorry to hear that , Jane.
You take good care of that knee now. My Bride very slightly damaged her knee but went on doing things and wound up having a problem that proved difficult to resolve. It would be great if you can avoid something like that.
You must forgive me for being somewhat alarmed.

My knee is fine today, and I'm touched by Logan's and Sjoerd's concern. Now I need to get all the things done that I didn't do yesterday!

Did the weekly shop this morning, then fed the birds. Nothing to do untl this evening when I'll sort out 'arry the 'edghog's dinner. Settled down in front of the TV to watch the tennis and later the football. Nothing urgent to do in the garden.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 29°C and sunny and humid. There will be a cold front moving through later tonight that may spark thunderstorms.
Had a great day at work catching up on weeding and deadheading thanks to yesterdays rain. Tomorrow the roses get the royal treatment.
But now its time to make dinner. I've been craving bacon and tomato sandwiches but there are no garden tomatoes yet. Store bought vine ripened will have to do tonight
Have a great evening all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently just 12°C and overcast with rain showers.
I got the day off today, so I'm going to work on some of those 'projects' around the house that I haven't gotten to for a while.
I love these unexpected days off during the week!
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 13°C and sunny.
This is the first day the sun has come out since Tuesday. We have had torrential rains for days, the ground is super saturated and the grass is growing like never before. The forecast calls for rain Sunday thru Thursday next week, so I have one day to cut all the grass and do all the 'things' outside - TODAY!
But first my visit with Dad. He is such a man of routine that I dare not change my visit!
Its going to be a busy day!
Have a great day all :)
