It all sounds very exciting there, Jain.
A dough-punching cowgirl. Why, I didn’t even know they existed. You are an amazing ranchera.

Hi! Saturday, dry-ish, temps just above freezing, and we've repotted house plants. I needed to play with some soil. I hope the plants will be happy. Could't resist buying a lovely Paphiopedilum orchid. I might manage to keep it for a few years. Orchids, Tillandsia, and cacti are the two types of house plants I manage to keep alive. Tomorrow is Mother's Day here in Norway. I already got my cut flowers from the children (21 and 24 this year), lovely bouquet. Hope you all have a nice day.

Good Monday morning all. Currently -25°C and sunny.
Monday already, the start of a wonderful new week. I'm been kinda itching to plant something, so I've decided that I'll start my peppers indoors this week.
I've got the rest of my garden seeds, all I need now is spring!
Have a great day all :)

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! I just got back from delivering homemade cookies and a box of chocolates to our veterinary. She has been through so much with our cats and we really appreciate her efforts and kindness.
Netty, so happy you are getting to scratch that "itch" and scratch some soil, too! How is that new grand baby and have you rested up from watching her big brothers?

Happy Valentine's Day! I have a box of heart-shaped chocolates and I'm not sharing. We have dry weather, just above freezing but with ice cold north wind and it's too cold to venture outside to cut Hellebours foliage. I'm itching too, @Netty. And that was a very nice gesture, @marlingardener. I knitted my vet a sweater with a pattern of Icelandic horses running around the top. She really needed something to keep her warm while working and she deserved it for her patience and support over the years.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -15°C and sunny. Weatherman says tomorrow is bringing a "complex storm setup". Not sure what that means, but I'm going to stay home!
Today, we are off to meet our littlest princess, who is finally home from hospital and settling into family life. Just a short visit because today is biggest brothers 4th birthday!
Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently +1°C and overcast with strong south winds.
We had a lovely visit with the birthday boy and baby sister yesterday, then came home and enjoyed the nice weather.
Rain in the forecast for today and very mild temperatures, and then a flash freeze. That should make or break my skating rink!
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently +7°C and raining. The yard is a giant puddle, except the driveway that is a compacted sheet of ice.
It poured rain overnight and the sump pump is running fast, and the skating rink is under water too. At least my new car got a good washing last night!
Its Thursday so I'm heading out to do my errands and shopping.
Have a great day all :)

Unlike Netty, we only got an overnight drizzle. Now the temps are in the 60's and we have sunshine. I can't complain!
We are looking forward to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo program tonight. Between two of the events there is "Mutton Bustin" in which children ride sheep and get a trophy. The children are between the ages of four and seven, and are very determined! Last night a six year old girl won--she was adorable, and her daddy had won the mutton bustin' 25 years ago. The children all wear helmets and a little flak jacket, but tumble off and get dirty, and sometimes the sheep falls on top of its rider. So refreshing to see children that aren't placed in a sanitized, padded environment while their parents hover over them. These kids will survive and thrive!

Good Friday morning all. Currently -16°C and sunny.
We had quite a snowfall overnight! Driveway is snowed in, roads haven't been plowed yet. Its a good thing I didn't need to be anywhere this morning!
I'll head out with hubby shortly to help dig out. Plow truck does most of the work so I'll just have to shovel off the paths, porches and stairs.
Have a great day all :)

Hi to all, Friday afternoon and I've actually managed to shut the world out for a little bit. It's been snowing a bit, raining a bit, and the sun's been out a bit. I am in a rather black mood after wrapping up and shipping my saddle off to a happy, new owner in south Norway. The weather forecast says more of the same weather for us for the next few days, so no gardening in the foreseeable future. I hope the storm set to hit England, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Germany isn't as bad as it looks, but please take care and take precautions.

Droopy, I sympathize with your black mood, but think of the happiness that saddle will bring to the horse and its owner. You are a generous person.
It is chilly today, but at least we have sunshine. Husband is out feeding the wild birds--we sure go through a lot of bird seed and black oil sunflower seed! We were told that we might as well take down the bird feeders if we were going to have cats. The cats would catch birds, or scare them away.
We have pacifist cats--birds hop on the patio and look into the cat shelter while Buddy is in it, Timi and Buddy sit on the porch and watch birds feeding, and the birds are in danger of overeating, but not in danger from our cats.

Gee Harry, let me know when your toilet paper tree blooms. Please post a photo, I'd like to see that.
