    That’s good Mel,

After posting my bit I was afraid that you might see my post as discouraging...and that was not my intention at all. One of the highlights of gardening is trying new things and doing trials. If you get a decent harvest and decide to make jam or some other tasty thing, please do post some piccies.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -3°C and overcast.
Not DD's best skate yesterday and she finished in 13th place. Now shes more determined than ever to do well and gets another chance next Saturday.
Today is going to be a mild day, so I think I'm going to attempt to move the pots out of my garden shed and into the greenhouse. I say "attempt" for a few reasons ... all the summer tires were put in there when the snow tires were put on and also the snow is still deep out there. We'll see.
@Melody Mc. Ground cherries take forever to germinate! When you think there is no way they are going to grow, give them a couple more weeks!
Have a great day all :)

Happy Sunday to all! We finally have sunshine and rising temperatures after a positively dismal Saturday, weather wise. Netty's idea of a "mild day" is sure different from my idea of one!

Finally a dry day, 10°C, quite a bit of sun, and quite a bit of wind too. Never mind the wind, it was dry! Went to the stables with daughter #3, did the chores, rode the horses for an hour-long hack, fed them and went home to stroll through half the garden. The other half still has snow, but it's melting fast with these temps and the wind. Enjoy the last Sunday of February.

Today was a good day. :) It had warmed and froze, so I could walk on the snow crust early this morning. I figured it out when my 110 lb pooch marched along sniffing fox tracks. The Norgold and Transparent Apples really needed a good trim while it was still winter. I could stand on the crust ( for the most part) and trim the tops without a ladder. Who ever thought deep snow would be such a graden asset for pruning! I only fell through half a dozen times. It felt so good to be outside and do that wee bit of gardening. I kept all of the trimmings for the smoker. We smoke pork loins for lean bacon/Canadian bacon. Very excited! - today was a good day. :stew2:

@Netty Thank you so much for the patience prompt. I'll put that hat on for the ground cherries. :)

@Sjoerd I wasn't discouraged all - just grateful for the information. Please feel free to share that with me anytime. :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently -16°C and sunny.
We had a nice dog walk this morning, and even thought its very cold I could feel the warmth of the sun. Nice feeling! I think we are at about 21 days until spring now, that makes me very happy! Cleaning house this morning, and heading to the rink tonight.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning! For a Monday it's not bad--the sun is shining and the temperature rising.
Husband is getting our truck inspected and then foraging for groceries not locally available. I'm cleaning house. I like to do my cleaning when it won't disturb my husband. I love my vacuum cleaner, but it sounds like a Boeing 747 taking off!

It's evening again, and I don't know what happened but the day flew by. We have 9°C and quite a bit of wind. I went to the stables to help out, then managed a couple of hours' tidying up in my garden before the chill chased me back inside. My husband came home with a rose bouquet because I proposed to him 26 years ago. It was leap day then, and I was allowed to propose. I had to propose because he was so slow to act. Anyway, it worked. This year is our silver anniversary. Have a nice Monday those of you who still have Monday left.

Droopy, Happy Anniversary! Your husband is thoughtful, and probably very grateful that you proposed 26 years ago. Do you think this marriage will last :heart:?

Geee, @marlingardener, I don't know... I've never considered divorce, but have at times contemplated murder.

It sounds like your proposal was a leap of faith that paid off in spades. Now to determine who got the better deal.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -7°C and overcast.
Today is the day I'm going to do my taxes. Then I can relax.
Started thinking about how spring is ever so slowly creeping in, and how I had better get all my spring cleaning done before then!
Once it's nice out I will want to spend every waking hour outside.
Have a great day all :)

Hi all, I'm ill so I haven't done anything today bar folding some bed linen and put a clothes wash on. I'm OK as long as I sit still but feel awful once I start moving about. I hope it's just a cold and not that d****d other thing.

Oh, I did, definitely. He never knew what he let himself in for. He also knew that I had to keep him because my mother-in-law informed me that she didn't want him back. I don't have to buy groceries or cook. I can play with chain saws and all sorts of fun tools whenever I want to instead.
