My heart goes out to you....but first, I have to clone it to keep in my chest. I miss your mum as well.

Thanks for the comforting words! I'm pulling myself up by the scruff of my neck, counting my blessings. I have also volunteered to be a refugee guide. I can't help with housing, but I can help with shopping, getting them to know the area, take them on walks in the woods, go fishing, everyday things. I strongly feel I want to contribute. They've lost everything but their lives.

Today's weather is a lot better than forecast. Currently 6°C, dry, fairly strong gusts of wind, but I've been out for an hours' walk and it's almost time for lunch. We're on daylight savings time now and I strongly dislike it. I might venture out in the garden to dig some holes for the Clematis I need to move. Or I might just patch a teddy and the leaf blower bag. Have a lovely Sunday all!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -6°C and snowing.
A busy day yesterday ... we were at the rink until 11am, then I had a seed swap to get to! I ended up with 2 more varieties of tomatoes, some Pak choy, and a magic bean.
Today we had plans to go and watch a friends synchronized skating competition, but sadly the snow storm may have changed plans for us.
Lots to do around the house anyway.
Have a great day all :)

@Netty, please send me a recipe for whatever you get your energy from. And please take care if you venture outside.

I planted out the broccoli starts and husband turned over the tomato bed. We are almost done with planting--just tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash remain to be planted. I know we are planting too much, but I can't help myself!
Formula One race in Saudi Arabia today, so we will watch that and my husband will have to explain the technical details (down draft, torque, etc.) and I'll root for Max Verstappen and the Ferraris. Then tonight is the finals of the Austin Rodeo which I'm looking forward to watching. Yes, we are eclectic folks!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently a chilly -13°C and sunny. Brrrrr!
Yesterday I got the 2 new varieties of tomatoes sowed, that makes a total of 27 varieties this year. Thank goodness I have 2 gardens to plant as well as kids that have gardens haha
I can not wait to taste them all!
Then we drove to watch the synchro competition ... daughter was not impressed with it all. She is a solo skater at heart and loves the jumps and spins. It was a fun afternoon though.
Lots of catch up to do around the house today, and then to the rink for 5pm.
Have a great day all :)

Monday evening, currently 2°C, white stuff in the air, and daylight savings time again. I'm gonna be woozy-headed for a few days before I manage to adjust. It's too cold to garden so I do house work. That's boring, so I procrastinate doing fun stuff in between. Tomorrow will probably be busy so I convince myself I have to preserve some energy. Have a good Monday!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -10°C and sunny. There is no wind, so it already feels much warmer than it did yesterday.
We are off to a funeral this morning ... my Brother In Laws father passed away last week at the age of 93. We are celebrating his life today, along with his 3 kids and their spouses, 6 grandchildren and their spouses and 2 great grandchildren.
Have a great day all :)

So sorry for your loss, @Netty. I like your celebrating his life. That's what we did when my mother passed away.

Evening all! It's 0°C and snow in the air. We've got five-six cm of snow on the ground, but that's not enough for us to go out and shovel. More forecast for tomorrow. I had to put some big pots over two early Trilliums yesterday. They are early ones. One is inherited from my mother, the other one is very hard to come by, and I don't want them to get any damage and die on me. I spent two hours at the garage, waiting for the mechanic to fix my car. It was just a check-up originally, but he had time to deal with the small things that needed fixing if I had time to wait. I had my phone, my tablet, cocoa, a few errands to run, so I waited. Of course I did. They usually have so much to do we'll have to wait three-four weeks for our appointment. I did my few errands afterwards and am now rid of another cable on my computer. Wireless keyboard FTW! Wish all of you a nice Tuesday.

Good morning! -3°C but rising. The sun was out just long enough to melt the ice off my windscreen. I'm hoping we'll see her again later today. I'm glad we've got snow on the ground to protect the plants that had started to grow. Nothing much planned for today. I'm off to help a friend, then back home to do some more housework, then off to the airport to pick up a couple of girls returning home after visiting relatives. I wish you all a good Wednesday.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast.
Kind of a 'blah' day today and we have a risk of freezing rain this morning. Anyone else hate when the weather people totally exaggerate the days weather and people change their entire day because of what "might" happen and then it doesn't happen? I suspect that is exactly what is going to happen today and I'm incredibly frustrated.
Ugh, wish it was warm enough to be out in the garden - my happy place.
Have a great day all :)

Morning all, 2°C and rising. We had 7-8 cm or 3" of snow during the night. The sun is out and it's melting. Was asked to mind a horse today, so I'm spending a few hours at the stables. Glad I still remember how to dress for changing weather like this. I should do some housework, but doing horsey stuff will cheer me up, so that's what I'll do. Have a good Thursday.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 5°C and overcast. Weatherman says that its going to get very windy, rain and the temperature will rise up to 15°C today.
It's Thursday, so I'm off to get errands and grocery shopping done. Hopefully the weather will be nice when I get home so I can get the old asparagus cut back.
Have a great day all :)
