    Happy Independence Day, USA!

Hi all. I've still got covid, but am pottering about ever so slowly. I can't do anything fast even if I try! We've gone from 26.6°C to 15°C in three days and we're going even lower. Four lovely days of sunshine and nice temps were spent on the veranda sofa. Such a waste of fine days, but there you go. It's raining, and will be raining for a week. At least. That's how far they're willing to forecast and claim some measure of accuracy. Have a lovely day!

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 20°C and raining. Weatherman said it was only going to rain for half the day, but I am not complaining! We needed rain so badly!
I did a bunch of random cleaning at work today, kind of a nice change. I got a message from the President of our local Horticultural society asking if I would like to be a stop on their garden tour. That's way too much pressure for me so I said no. I'm just not home enough to be able to whip my gardens into shape! Besides, I'm not very comfortable with a bunch of strangers in my yard.
Hope you are feeling better soon Droopy!

Good morning. 11°C, pouring, but thankfully just a little bit of wind. This reminds me more of October than July. I'm getting better. We don't have a cat but right now a cat is sleeping on my blanket on top of my pillow in my favourite chair. He was wet, begged to come inside, and I'm just a terrible softy, so here he is. Thanks for all your well-wishes. Still have to be a bit careful since I'm dizzy. Been poring over very old photos (again) but I'm seeing and end to them. Still have plenty of old stuff to go through, but everything done is good. Might earn some housewife points by ironing today.

Good Thursday afternoon all. Currently 25°C and sunny.
It's been a busy day at work, then did my grocery shopping and now I'm home making dinner and lunches for tomorrow. I've washed a load of work clothes and I have to go out and water the veggie garden yet. Then a shower and by then it will be bedtime! Days are just flying by!

@Droopy - be very kind to yourself and get a lot of rest. I hope you feel better soon.

Like some others it still feels more like fall than summer here. There have been rain and thunderstorms daily, and most nights are a low of 6. Apparenlty tomorrow I will begin so see some summer temps for a few days. As I type this - a sneaky storm that didn't show up on my weather radar is dumping amix of heavy rain with some hail. And of course I uncovered this morning to give eveyrone some fresh air. I'll pop out soon to see how everyone faired. The plants are big enough now that hopefully they will muddle through some holes in their leaves.

This is what my sky has looked like daily for about the last three weeks.

Hi all, currently 9°C and pouring. I emptied 28 mm /1.1 inch of water out of the rain gauge this morning. We've had worse in a 24-hour span, but it's still bad enough. The wind we had yesterday has died down, but the chilly temps and rain is bad enough. It's July! I get some sort of comfort knowing I'm not the only one whining about weather. Misery loves company and all that. The cat is in my chair again. Can't say I blame him for wanting to be warm and dry. I'm not doing anything outside today bar scowl at the weather. Will sort the last pile of old photos and start on the next box, then drive by a friend's garden to check if the trees are still standing. I'm a lot better, and so is the rest of the family. We'll still take it fairly easy though. Wishing all a lovely day whatever you do.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 13°C and clear. We sure could use some rain here Melody and Droopy, send it over!
I tried to sleep in this morning, but again was woken by the neighbours dog barking. That barking dog has woken me up the last 6 out of 8 weekends by 6am. GRRR
I'm going to try to take it a little easy today ... my heel is really hurting me. We'll see how successful that turns out lol
Have a great day all :)

Netty, somehow I missed your post about hurting your heel. I do hope it gets better soon, and taking it easy today can only help.
I'm making tomato sauce to freeze--the picking yesterday was really good, so I have a kettle of tomato chunks simmering down and then they will go through the sieve.
Netty, take care of your dear self, and I hope you all have a good weekend!

Netty, what did you do to that heel anyway?

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 18°C and sunny.
I'm really not sure what I have done to my heel/ankle. I spend a lot of time on my feet everyday and hubby says its just one of the first signs of old age haha
I think that I could use some orthotics, and some better shoes. It feels a lot better this morning. It gets bad after I wear a particular pair of gardening shoes.
I picked my first 2 zucchini from my garden this morning. There are lots of peas and lettuce to pick, and black currents are ready. Nice to finally have some rewards for all my hard work!
Have a great day all :)

This has been a really good day. Timi the cat, who is an outdoor cat, didn't show up yesterday. We feared she had encountered someone stronger than she. This morning she came nonchalantly strolling up the path and tucked into the food bowl! :setc_083: Why are we so wrapped around these cats' paws?
Watered the tomatoes and peppers and herbs. If this drought doesn't end soon, our rainwater cubes will be emptied. We still have plenty of tap water, but it isn't the same. Still hotter than Hades, and no relief in sight.
Hope you all have a cooler and wetter day!

Good Wednesday afternoon all. Currently 21°C and mostly cloudy. It was a great day for working outside!
So glad Timi came home MG!
I'm watching the veggie garden with anticipation ... every single tomato plant has green tomatoes now and I just can not wait to eat a juicy, homegrown tomato! I've got a couple of zucchinis that I am allowing to grow huge for hubbys zucchini relish as well. He sure loves that stuff!
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday evening all. Currently 25°C and sunny.
Fridays are always so busy, and today was no different! Started work at 6am and worked until 2:30, at which time I drove to a clients and worked until 5:30. Then I headed to pick up my daughters birthday cake for tomorrow. Just walked the dog 2km and now I'm sitting down enjoying an adult beverage. I was going to go out and water the garden but I think I'll hold off until morning. I may just watch some gardening vlogs instead and put up my feet! I'm beat!
Have a good night all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 15°C and sunny.
Today my 'baby' turns 19! Where or where does the time GO? I'm not sure what she has planned for us today, she told me she would be sleeping in until 9:30 and then she would decide. I do know that its Chinese Food for dinner tonight.
I'm hoping to get the garden watered, the pool vacuumed and the large zucchini shredded for my zucchini relish making tomorrow before she's up!
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday evening all. Currently 28°C and sunny. We had a surprise day of rain today so I got most of the day off to deal with our pool that sprung a leak. Just waiting for the pump to finish transferring whats left of the water to the new pool. The sun came out a while ago and it got stinkin hot out because of the humidity. Tomorrow is supposed to be a record breaking day so I'll be glad to have a pool!
Have a great day all :)
