Hubby gave me a photo box for Christmas for my recipes. ( @Netty - you showed this for your seed sorting....). My mission during the world jr's hockey is to combine and sort my personal home recipe books. It has worked great! But a trip down memory lane.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast. Its very dark out this morning!
Its Thursday and that means its errand and shopping day! Not too much to pick up today so it should be a quick trip.
Hope the rain holds off for me.
Have a great day all :)

Today is sunny, but cooler. We have had the cat inside more than outside, since she likes comfort (don't we all?).
There isn't much going on today except laundry and making a dry rub for the chicken breast for tonight's dinner.
Hoping you all are as comfortable as our cat!

The sun peeked out today and the temp rose to 3 degrees for twenty minutes. Everyone loved it, including the birds. The lows are -15. The full moon on the snow makes sleep a street light affair, and we've been up since about 3 am with a few dozes after. When you are not used to any light, it is quite bright. I can walk outside without a spotlight during the night. The raspberry wine was bottled today. It turned out pretty good. Hubby is pleased. ( he's the winemaker - I'm the flunky). Now off to watch the World Juniors Hockey - Canada is in the gold medal game

marlingardener .. very happy to hear kitty is inside …

A Netty the rain is non stop here. W0-30’ waves are tearing up the Oregon cost. We are approx same temps 37f here.

That is a good foto, Mel.
I would vote for that one in the monthly foto competition.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast with mist falling. Its very dark outside for this time of day!
All the snow has melted now, and I can see all the work that needs doing in the gardens. This morning I decided that I would give the welcome garden a makeover this spring. I have all winter to come up with a plan for it!
Just regular housework today and off to the skating rink tonight.
Have a great day all :)

    It is a sport weekend.
EK speed-skating and two weeks of the Dakar Rally. I’m sweet.

    Sjoerd..Enjoy the competitions..
My grandson was a speed skater trained all year. Traveled all over for competitions. The Covid was a huge interruption and w years lock down were very slow as he aged out. He is retired now at 24 years. You wouldn’t believe how huge his thighs and calves are…

Cor— that seems so young to retire. We still have skaters here in their early 30’s. The muscular development is on purpose and necessary. Skating is a lung and leg sport…like some track and field disciplines.

Well, today there will be more skating and I will be in my element, ensconced on the sofa with tea and bikkies.

Glad you will enjoy a day in your element, Sjoerd!
I'm going to be in my element, too--a day in the kitchen. A vat of chili to make, French bread (I love to knead!), and beef broth. I've been saving bones and have enough beef bones to make a good broth, and beef stew when it gets colder next week.
Some of the chili will go to our neighbor--she says the Meals on Wheels food is good, but kind of bland. She loves chili! That and a small loaf of French bread will satisfy her taste buds, I hope!

Oh Jane, to de a fly on the wall in your kitchen. It would be fun to watch you work, but the smells, the smells. Heavenly, no doubt.
Really nice that you can make that lady happy with a portion of what all you are making. You must be related to the chicken race because you sure are a good egg.

Sjoerd, I don't allow flies in my kitchen but you would be welcome at any time, but only if you were willing to be a "taste tester". We had a loaf of the bread tonight at dinner, and it passed the taste test.

Well chef J— there ain’t flies on you, innit.
I would formally like to apply for the job of official kitchen tester. My qualifications are that I do not smoke or drink alcohol, so my buds are pure and not compromised or stunted. As a bonus, I also do not chew tobacco.
Further, i am flexible and am willing to work any and all hours (in your kitchen).
    I don’t do windows.

Chapeau with your recent French bread success.
