Good Monday morning all. Currently -2°C and sunny.
What a great weekend! It started out with me meeting up with my Cousin at a Skating competition at her daughters home club. Yes, her daughter is a figure skater too! I haven't seen her since my sisters wedding in 1987 so we had lots to talk about! My daughter had a great skate with a new personal best score. Saturday morning was spent at the rink where my daughter Coaches and is teaching my grandsons how to skate. Then we call came back to my house for birthday celebrations. Sunday morning spent in competition again, and then we came home and spent the sunny afternoon outside, where the temperature hit 9°C! I slept so well last night!
Today, some laundry and clean up inside, then outside to start greenhouse cleanup. Rink tonight from 6-9. Another full day :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -4°C and sunny. It really is a beautiful morning ... while walking the dog I could hear birds singing. That's something I haven't heard for a very long time! Seems like spring is in the air, although I know its much too early.
My spring cleaning continues today, and then hopefully I'll have some time to be outside or in the greenhouse.
Have a great day all :)

Oh happy day! One of elderly hens laid an egg :like:! Our hens are old, and we thought their egg laying days were over, but one summoned up her strength and gave us an egg! There's life in the old girls yet.
Oh happy day! We heard from the plumber, and he'll be out first thing next week. I was giving up hope on having this bathroom remodel done in my lifetime.
It's damp and foggy today, but nothing can dampen my spirits--an egg, and prospects of having the plumbing finished!

So then Jane— hen lays egg and plumber will plumb.
It’s a win-win day for you. I reckon you are plumb pleased with this development.
    Woo-hoo!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast. I can't complain, we just had several days of sunshine and warm temperatures, enough to bring up everyones vitamin D levels. Weather is going to be a lot different for the next few days - back to winter, with snow and cold temperatures.
Yesterday, I noticed a pile of foam pieces next to the car and realized that something was climbing up and making a nest under there! DH was sure it was a mouse and set up a mouse trap. I was sure it was a squirrel and set up a rat trap - I knew there was no way a mouse was doing that kind of damage that quickly. This morning there was a chipmunk in the trap! I swear sometimes he thinks I'm stupid lol I'll be taking that car to town to do my errands and groceries, so hopefully anything else living in there evacuates while in town haha
Have a great day all :)

Netty, never pick up or transport hitchhikers!
It is cold and blustery today, so I am taking refuge in the kitchen. The ham stock is simmering away, and I've planned a nice hot soup for lunch.
Husband has been trying to register our new chain saw--why do companies make it difficult for a customer to register a product? He had three tries at it, and finally our e-mail was accepted as valid. Then we are changing banks because our bank was sold to a credit and loan, and in trying to close out accounts, the old bank let us know they were so busy, and "Shelley" would get back to us. Probably busy with ex-customers fleeing a sinking ship!
I'll calm down soon. Not so sure about my husband! But all in all, things are pretty nice around here--cat and hens are safe and warm, and we have each other to commiserate with.

Netty— Glad you caught that chipmunk. Those littke guys sure can cause a person grief.

Jane— sorry to hear about you banking misfortune. We had a similar experience a couple of years ago. It took forever and wound up costing us money in the end. I did not see the banking policy change coming. It really winds me up.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -9°C and snowing. With the wind chill it feels more like -16°C. I agree with that as I walked the dog in my lighter jacket that I've been wearing this week and I was freezing!! Sitting with a hot coffee now near the woodstove and feeling better already.
I think today I'll be gathering up my papers and thinking about starting my tax return. I also have some bookwork to do for the skating club. Thank goodness the weather isn't nice and maybe I'll get it done haha
Have a great day all :)

-13 C today is a big snow removal and plough day. We woke up to 6 inches of fresh white stuff, and are expecting double that over the next two days starting tonight. So much for hoping for the last plough. hahaha The sun is almosssssst to my first destination and it has warmed to single negative digits, so that will be nice. It's been very gray. Angus is flaked out after a busy morning snurfling and sniffing deer, fox and ermine tracks in the fresh snow. Scotch Broth Soup and veggie sandwiches are made for lunch so that it is ready when we come inside. Hubby will run the plough truck for the first hour while I shovel and snow blow, and then I will wrap it up. Angus likes to ride shotgun when Mom runs the truck, so he gets pretty excited when the truck warms up.

Hi all, it's Saturday afternoon, chilly, windy, and snowy! We've had rain, hail, sleet, snow, and wind for the last few days. The snowdrops have started blooming. I might bring a few inside tomorrow if I remember. Most of my waking hours are spent at the stables still. It will be better as I get back into the routines. Right now it's fumble-fumble, and too much time spent walking back and forth because I forgot something. I'm going to watch the film Sjoerd posted, and then maybe-maybe do some ironing. Enjoy your Saturday, and I'll just wish you a happy Sunday too while I'm at it.
