The Good Day All Thread

Good Monday morning all, and happy first day of spring! Currently -2°C and sunny.
Today is the first day of another busy week! We start pulling costumes for the ice show today, and hopefully we can find something for everyone. This will be a 3 day process. Dress rehearsal is in 9 days and there is still SO much to do! In between the chaos of our own ice show, we are also running to 2 other skating clubs for practice as DD is in 3 different Clubs year end ice show. All the excitement will be over by April 2, and then it will be time to switch to garden mode.

No, theres always something to do! I like to keep busy and dont enjoy sitting or watching TV. I have 2 modes, on and off (when I'm sleeping!) haha

Happy first day of spring! It's currently 39 degrees. Somebody lied!

 

Good morning! Partly cloudy, dry, still a lot of snow on the ground and 3°C this morning. Low temps and no sun isn't exactly helping us towards spring, but we have hopes for next week, lol. Yesterday was spring equinox. I'm so looking forward to lighter evenings. We've gone from 4-plus hours of daylight to 12 hours of daylight in just three monts, but those six months from autumn equnox 'till now feel so long!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 1°C and overcast.
I just went to check my seedlings, and discovered that 3 strands of lights are no longer working! I'll fiddle with those after my coffee, and if I can't get them to work it looks like I'm going to the store for new ones! NOT what I wanted to be doing today but its still too cold to move them out to the greenhouse.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. The snow has been melting and today on my dog walk I picked up an entire bag of (returnable) beer cans from the ditch! A couple of $$ made, and more to come!
Yesterday I took apart my plant shelf and removed the lights that weren't working and put in the spare light. Fiddled with the lights and realized it was the timer switch that wasn't working so I removed that and the lights work just fine! I was SO close to just throwing them out and buying new ones, so thankfully I took the time to test every single piece.
I've been working hard on costumes and decorations this week, and today I'll be finishing up the iron on shirts. At this point I am going to be so happy when this show is over!!

Ah Netty, I'm so happy to know you are not a member of the "disposable society" that immediately chucks something that doesn't work.
The bathroom flooring was installed yesterday, so today I don't have strange men tromping through the house. I'll do some cleaning, and I made a pasta salad since the weather is warming--finally--and we will be having not-hot lunches.
I am so ready for spring, as I'm sure all of you are, too.

 

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 5°C and raining. Sargent proudly sported his new yellow raincoat on our walk today!
We were up late last night, still working on costumes. One of our volunteers had a medical issue so they can't help for a while, and the remaining few are working extra hard to get things done. We are all WORN OUT. Why is it so hard to find volunteers to help these days??
Its Thursday, so I am off to do my errands and shopping.

Oh MG, you have no idea how ready I am!!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -2°C with overcast skies and strong west winds. That should help dry things up a little!
It was another busy day of ice show preparation yesterday, with more costume fittings, sound checks and lots of meetings. One more week until the show!
Today I'm working on the playlist, script for the announcer and printing report cards. This afternoon DD skates in an ice show with her competition team.
Another busy day ahead!

Yes! The World Figure Skating Championships started on March 20th and ended yesterday! It took place in Japan. Did you watch?
