It is sunny but cool today (remember, "cool" for us is 50's and 60's.) I'm puttering around in the kitchen and husband is off to the lumberyard. He loves lumberyards the way I love plant nurseries!
The cat woke us up at 1 a.m. meowing at the door, wanting in. She had been called every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. until 9:30, but she is on her own schedule. It seems we both went to college just to become cat servants. Rewarding work and one gets paid in purrs.
Hope your day is rewarding, too!

No, I didn’t watch any. It wasn’t shown here, plus I only heard about it. I do know that there were some dutch athletes that were going.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -1°C and sunny. I was overdressed for my dog walk, and by the time I got home I was pouring sweat. I picked up 34 beer cans in the small stretch of my road, $3.40 for my plant fund haha
Off to the rink again this morning. Today its another sound check, and fixing up the glittery entrance to the ice. The count is on ... 6 days until I get my life back.
Meanwhile, my garden is glaring at me to get cleaning up.
Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -1°C and sunny. I picked up another $2 worth of empties this morning on my walk. The plant fund grows haha
I had time for a walk around the gardens yesterday, and boy do I have a lot of work to do out there! Its going to have to wait another 5 days until this ice show is over and I get my life back. Today, I'm cutting out stars with my cricut and printing a ton of sheets we need for show day. Tonight is dress rehearsal, should be interesting!
Have a great day all :)

Ah, Wednesdays! Today I sent a long e-mail to my sister-in-law with fish recipes. She has four grown children. Her younger daughter and her husband are vegetarian, but will eat fish. Her two sons are very picky eaters with vociferous dislikes. Her oldest daughter has no strong feelings about food one way or the other, as far as I can tell. Bless her heart, she tries.
Husband is preening himself, and rightfully so, because he got our tiller to work. Something about a blockage in the carburetor. He is the best!
I'm cooking. Chicken Cacciatore for dinner with extra for the lady down the street. Although she gets Meals on Wheels she can pop this into the refrigerator and have it later. She has mentioned that the delivered meals are pretty bland. Believe me, this chicken is not bland!
Hope you all have a pleasant day, and one that is as successful as my husband's!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -9°C and sunny. Quite a difference from the last few mornings as we have snow again, its it COLD!
I'm dragging my feet and eyelids today ... dress rehearsal last night was insane, and I was up very late. I've got to go do my errands and shopping this morning, but then its feet up and early to bed tonight. Just a few more days and it will all be over.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently -1°C and snowing. Not funny Mother Nature!
Another busy day ... heading over to the rink shortly to set up for tomorrows show. DD will stay home as she was up sick since 1am. It must have been something she ate, but I can't be sure. I sure hope she feels better tomorrow!!
Yesterday I got to spend 30 minutes out in my garden!
Have a great day all :)

Was it “nerves”? I really hope that she does not have a “stomach flu” or something like that.

Good Saturday evening all. Currently -1°C and overcast with strong north winds.
We think it was food poisoning. She says that she ate some of the raw muffin dough when she made muffins that day. Shes had a horrible few days since!
We finally had our long awaited ice show today, and she was unable to perform her solo due to the weakness and dizziness she experienced. She was able to do the group numbers, but just didn't have the strength for the double jumps in her program. The show turned out great otherwise, and the kids all had a great time. Its always good to end the season on an "ice show high". Tomorrow, DD skates in another ice show in another town with her competition team. I hope she is feeling better by then.
As for me, I think I might finally get a good nights sleep tonight!

Well Netty, hats off to you for your hard work. I am so sorry to hear that your girl had persistent trouble with her tum. It sure came at a bad time.
You turn-in early tonight, why don’t you and get that well-deserved good nights’ sleep.

@Netty I hope your daughter is feeling more herself tomorrow and can enjoy her skate. That's a bummer for sure that she wasn't well enough for this last show.

We have had flurries today, and expecting more tomorrow. No accumulation though which is nice. The long range forecast shows double digits so the melt will finally begin. It has been a long winter with white since October. The birds are back - black birds, grosbeaks, robins, thrush and finches. The feeders are very busy as they wait for spring to follow them.:)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -2°C and sunny.
The show was a hit! Somehow me managed to pull it all together and the kids had a great time. DD wans't able to skate her solo, but she did skate in the other 2 numbers she was in. And after all that, she skated in the second shows rehearsal in another town! Today is the last show, but guess whos not feeling so hot today? ME! I've been up with stomach cramps most of the night! Hopefully I'll fell better this afternoon and will be able to drive her there :)
She's been skating for about 9 years now. The 2 years of Covid lockdowns took a toll, or she would have been a triple gold skater by now. She loves to skate and Coaches the young ones now at our Club.
I'm looking forward to some time in my gardens now that winter skating is over. I've got 11 days before spring skater starts :)

Netty isn’t is such a joy to experience of a young athlete grow and become a champ not only for herself and in the eyes of family.
My nephew had the lock down shut his Olympic dreams down. He trained for many years as a bicyclist . His calves/legs are huge. He has won many competitions thruout the US to qualify for the Olympics. He still rides and runs a riding club/trains young athletes. The years of his training he has learnt self-discipline, character and work ethics.
