Netty, there is a powder called Repels All that repels mammals but not birds. It might be in hardware or ranch and supply stores, but can be ordered on the 'net. We have used it to repel skunks and it works. About the life cycle of rabbits, all I know is that it's longer than the life of a garden they invade!
I tied up the tomato plants this morning. All of them look really healthy except for the one cherry tomato. The puny cherry tomato has several green tomatoes on it. I flushed it with rainwater last week, thinking it couldn't hurt, and it is putting out new leaves. I'll step out later and cut some roses to bring in the house. No big plans for the rest of the day!
Hope you all have a good gardening day, rabbit free!

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 22°C and sunny.
Another busy day at work, then I stopped to get a few groceries I missed on Thursday. Came home to walk the dog and discovered that the bunnies are still there. I've decided that if they are still there by Friday, I will move them. According to my research, they are old enough to fend for themselves now. Once I move them, they are no longer welcome in my garden, and if the dog finds one, so be it. I put up a fence years ago to keep the rabbits and critters out. Hubby raised the gate last winter and I think that is how mama got in, so its time to adjust the gate. Next weekend Sarge and I get our happy place back :)
Off to the rink, have a good night all

Good luck with your rabbit relocation plan…but as you say, after removing them what happens, happens. The main thing is that they be kept out of your fenced area. Period.

Wednesday, and while husband is out "foraging" at the grocery store, I'm doing some cleaning.
It rained last night, so I'm doubly glad the tomatoes got tied up yesterday. No gardening today--too soggy.
Between vacuuming stints I got on the internet and picked up a couple of new recipes. Husband may have to go back to the grocery!
Netty, you are kindhearted! If a rabbit invades our gardens, I wouldn't be nearly as nice as you. Fortunately the feral cat population keeps the rabbits under control (in deference to Netty, I won't say how.)

If folks begin coming with ideas and tips…well, there will be many. I can see that it would be easy to go down the rabbit hole with this subject.

I hope you have success catching and moving those babies Netty. Way way way far away. Kind of a little worse than trying to catch a greased pig :) We raised rabbits for many many years. We used large fishing nets with long handles when one would accidently get out. Once the babies are out of the nest and looking like furry babies, Momma has taught them to eat instead of nurse. You have a challenge ahead of you. I wish you and Seargent good luck in the catching.

It has been a busy time. I am in for a cup of tea before going back out to do one last garden task. The flea beatles are having a feast on my baby plants, and the rain will be stopping long enough to use some diatomacious earth. Tomorrow morning will see a new piece of plastic on the roof of the greenhouse so that it no longer leaks all over my tomatoes and peppers. My patching helped but did not get every hole. We've had record breaking rain for three days which has thankfully greened things up and helped everyone facing fires. There are only about 6 in my area, but North Eastern BC and Alberta are still having a tough time.

The greenhouse will get a quick water where needed and a check up before we travel to the city for a few days. Hopefully I will get a chance to thin the carrots and beets, otherwise they will be there when I get back waiting for some attention. As will the other chores that I've put in the #@%! It Bucket ( my daughter's expression - when you need to walk away from things and let them go for a while - you put them in the bucket. I suspect the plastic on the greenhouse roof may make it's way into the bucket tomorrow for a few days).

Good thursday afternoon all. Currently 16°C and sunny. There was a frost warning last night, and there is another one tonight.
All the bunnies are out of the nest, and I thought they were all gone, but there is still at least 2 hanging around. I never would have seen them but Sargent sniffed them out. They are smart though, and sit on the other side of the fencing. I still think I can catch the 2 and move them, so that will be my plan this weekend. Kinda wondered if Mom was still coming around and feeding them?
Off to the rink. One more work day before my weekend begins.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday to you all! I'm waiting for things to dry out a bit before harvesting herbs to dry and to freeze. Very humid and dewy out there!
I'm trying to figure out what to have for dinner tonight (husband might object to a plate of fresh herbs!).
We are under a "boil water" notice. This happens about twice a month, with either too little chlorine or too much, or a water main break, or someone forgot to do something. We keep a supply of distilled water in gallon containers, not for "if" but for "when". Living in a third world country is not for the weak kneed! No wonder we drink wine.
May your day and weekend be pleasant, and the water coming out of your tap not be lethal!

Good Friday afternoon all. Currently 18°C and sunny.
I had another busy day at work today, and when I got home I realized I was too tired to do my own stuff! I watered the plants in the greenhouse and the raised beds and now I'm relaxing with at cold adult beverage. Theres always tomorrow haha
Have a great evening all :)

Marlin absolutely ridiculous, so sorry you have to go thru that . what a pain..
Well not looking foreword to wildfire season. First the news says, “ Hey we’re all good shouldn’t have any wildfires this season stating we had way over the amount of rain and snow this year needed and out of the drought. Then two weeks later .. news said , “Well we have not had any rain for ten days now and the wildfire season is quickly approaching. So which is it?

In our area the power company shuts off the power and of course this has effected out water pump in the holding tank plus every time we lost power last winter and power outage accumulation over a few years . The propellers are wearing out and can’t always get enough pressure to pump the water back up to the air tanks.
So goody goody ….now we have to replace the pump in the holding tank.
    It’s always something.

Netty it always seems the winters are so long which doesn’t leave us enough time to catch up with all the garden projects. I don’t ever seem to catch up. By fall I’m so overloaded I look foreword to a winter break.
