@Sjoerd - that is a new thing I would think, for that competition to be held in such hot weather. Not what is expected at all. That is a troubling vibe you are having there - a worry. I hope it breaks soon My Friend.

Cheers Mel. It is beginning to break with cooler temps…about ten degs cooler today. Extreme heat takes a toll. We heard on the news that there were some eighty people who needed medical attention.

Thanks for your good words Pac.

Good Tuesday to you all! I spent a happy morning in the kitchen, experimenting with three recipes for refrigerator pickles. Have I mentioned we are up to our knees in cucumbers? If any of them are good, I'll post on the Recipes forum.
Husband is out mowing. Why does the grass grow so well when we haven't had a decent rain in the past ten days? Does dew and humidity account for the grass growing?
Hope you all have a happy day, in or out of the kitchen!

Good Tuesday evening all. Currently 19°C and raining. I was at work all day hoping for a rain day so I could go home and make jam, but it didn't rain. I got home from work and there was a huge lake on my lawn ... DD said it rained all day! Guess I don't have to water the garden tonight! I made jam, and then lunches while dinner was in the oven. Now I'm ready for my shower and a lazy night watching my vlogs.
Have a great night all :)

Another happy morning in the kitchen. I made a large batch of marinara sauce, using up some of the Roma tomatoes and fresh basil. It takes a while to make and cook down, but it's so worth it!
Hoping you all have a happy morning, afternoon, and evening.

Good Wednesday afternoon all. Currently 20°C and smokey. The winds have been blowing the forest fire smoke this way again, and it has been very smokey all day. It was so dark this morning that I needed a flashlight to walk the dog! I just read on the weather network that Ontario has the "worst air quality in the world" today. Funny this is, last time it actually smelled like burning pine trees, and today it smells like burning plastic/chemicals. We will get another day like this tomorrow and then it is supposed to clear. I'm not even sure where the fires are anymore, I had hoped that all the rain we had would have helped extinguish the fires. Not a good situation at all.
Off to BBQ some steaks for dinner! Have a great night all :)

Good Friday afternoon all. Currently 24°C feeling like 32°C. The skies are still hazy from smoke, but there is no smell today. The chemical smell the other day really made me wonder what they are trying to extinguish these fires with, and what does it do to our health?? Whats going on in this world makes me sick.
It was another busy day at work, but I'm home now for a long weekend (and I couldn't be happier about that!)
I'm just waiting for it to cool a little so I can walk the dog and then relax a little.
Have a great night all :)

Netty good that there's no smells today from the fires. It's 20.20pm here and it's cloudy and 17c
Been trying to pick the pink currants before the blackbirds ate them.

Yesterday had to take Berry to the vet, he's got a urine infection, had to get a sample of urine so that he could have some antibiotics. In the meantime he had a anti inflammatory injection and then some in liquid form to put on his food.
It's easy with a male dog, just wait for him to cock his leg and then put a clean large container underneath him. He's improved and back to normal, started on the antibiotics, put one on his food and ate it with no problems.

Sorry to hear about your boy. Glad to hear that he’s on the mend. You must have been a bit worried.
Good luck with your pink currentprotection.
