Maritime influence until 10 AM. Take off the sweater as the day warms up I’d 80s F/28C. Good dog walking weather. Am going to let the weeds grow and relax today.

MarlinG— that all sounds a bit more positive.

Jewell— sounds like you’ve got the right idea.

Good Friday, but not in the religious sense! We watered tomatoes and picked a few. I'll make a black bean, tomato, and corn salad to have with dinner tonight.
Jewell, I agree with Sjoerd--letting the weeds grow another day won't hurt a thing, and you deserve a relaxing day!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 17° and cloudy. It looks like a lovely day ahead!
I picked the first cucumber and 3 zucchinis, and the garlic is almost ready to harvest. Black currents are ready too.
We had a surprise rain shower last night, so watering the garden is off the list for today. There is plenty of grass to cut and trim and millions of weeds to pull so I shouldn't get bored.
First, I'm hosting a meeting with the skating club board, to finalize this years programming.
Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday, and happy birthday to my darlin' husband! I am encouraging him to relax and enjoy his special day (he has things he wants to do, and I can't say him nay). I have a special dinner planned with his favorite dishes. He deserves at least one special day a year!
The weather has eased--we haven't had triple digits for the past two days, and it doesn't seem we'll have them today.
I hope you all have a special day today!

Many happy returns to the birthday boy.
Great that you are doing all the nice things for him.
    Nice little rhyme, BTW.
I’ll bet you are in your element making that special meall.

Good Monday afternoon all. Currently 23°C with passing showers and sunshine.
It was a usual day at work today, except I got to spend an hour shopping for fruit trees! Bought 2 apple, a plum and a plumcot (whatever that is! I assume a mix of a plum and apricot?)
Came home and made a lasagna for dinner and won't have to water the garden tonight because we had a good shower so maybe I'll get a chance to relax!
Have a great evening all :)

    Good Tuesday morning folks
Add me to the "I'll never learn" club. I cut basil stems, intending to use them that night. Changed the menu, and left the stems in a glass of water on the window sill. This morning I potted up the rooted stems. We don't need more basil, but I can't bring myself to let them go.
When we lived in upstate New York, there was an orchard stand near us. They had plumcots and would let you sample one before buying. Plumcots were a novelty in the area where plums and apricots, among other fruits, were grown. Locals looked on hybrids (plum +apricot) with skepticism, but they looked that way at most anything their grandparents hadn't encountered.
Hope you have a good Tuesday, and the rest of the week, also!

Good morning. The misty rain has stopped. Love the rain:heart: it has been a hot dry summer so far so always appreciate rain for the rainforest.

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 27°C and we have sun and cloud. It feels HOT and poor Sarge is panting from his walk.
Had a good day at work, I was really busy so it went quickly. Now I'm home and we are getting ready to head to the rink. Theres lots of leftover lasagna so I won't have to make dinner!
@Sjoerd I got Honeycrisp and yellow delicious apple trees and a yellow plum to go along with the plumcot tree. I'm just glad I was finally able to talk them into some fruit trees!
Have a great evening all :)

    Good posting, Jane.

Netty—they sound good to me. That yellow plum, though— there are a couple of yellow ones. Why were your clients so difficult to convince? Anyway, congrats.

We are enjoying a nice cool day today. I was able to cook inside! Very exctiting stuff. :)

We cut and pickled the peppers, made nut free pesto balls for the freezer, apricot jam and canned the first of the toms. After a late lunch it will be off to pick the raspberries with the hopes they have dried a bit from yesterday's rain.

I stand up and applaud you and your work.
How do you eat the pesto balls?
