Good morning everyone , had a bad night last night, had so much pain in my lower back and hips that I just couldn't get comfy so I got up and finally went to bed at 5am ( 5 hours ago) and manage to doze for an hour......I certainly haven't got the zoomies.. more like the zombies today:D.

    Have a great day.:)

Had culture night at my daughter's school. I enjoyed the food of the different cultures that where there. My daughter is a picky one so she just had the sweets and said she liked the different dances and learning about other cultures. Very proud hearing say that.

Clay, that sounds like a fun evening. It sounds like she had a good time and did show some interest in cultural things. I will tell you Clay, I have spent most of my adult life travelling to far places in the world and it includes strange cultures, foods, customs, languages and so forth. I believe that it made me more aware of things that were not usual to me…ultimately making me a more well-balanced person and unpolarised person.

What I am getting at is that these sorts of evenings may be fun for you but can be very helpful to your child in terms of the development of her mind and personality.

Oreti Boy do I hear ya on your hips and back pain. Been there for a long time and have had 3 hip joint replacements. Last year I stepped down one step and broke my rt ankle and tore the ligaments in the left. Jeezzz. Now I am extra careful since my balance is a bit shakey at times. It seems my body is lettin me down at this stage but there is always a way to adjust to the new limitations we all face eventually.
    Sending healing blessings your way.

Clay culture night is always a fun time and many kids can be very intrigued with different cultures especially some foods.
One year my son brought homemade Escargo to school for culture day, which he loved the garlic butter and bread along with sliding a gastropod down. He was 9 years old. Definitely had a blast watching all the kids reactions to snail shells all decked out in butter and French bread on fancy plates. …:smt081

    Thank you @Pacnorwest

So sorry to hear of your joint issues ,you've certainly had more than your fair share of painful problems !!

My balance can catch me out at times too, very unnerving. I find that I really can't trust my body anymore to make the movements I want it to make!!!

I have screws in each foot....first was done 13 years ago and the second 8 years ago ,the surgery has been a great success at stopping the arthritis from causing me pain but has left it difficult to negotiate uneven ground at times.

I also suffer from frequent bouts of Bursitis, currently in my left hip. I have had it over recent years in my right hip ,left shoulder and left knee....incredible painful, especially for trying to sleep with.

2 years ago I had to have surgery to remove the whole meniscus on the left side of my right knee and partial removal on the right side. It stopped my knee from giving way on me unexpectedly but still can be a bit painful at times.

All our current damp weather has played havoc with my lower back too this Winter as I have Osteoporosis in the lower section of my spine.

On the whole I can cope OK , it's getting good quality sleep that I find more of an issue.

I don't like taking medication and am proud of myself for still not resorting to any. So long as I am able to keep active and on the move..... albeit more slowly on some days than others, all is manageable for the time being......that is of course if I can get a good night's sleep!! :fingerscrossed:

Good Thursday evening all. Currently 3°C and sunny.
Such a busy week! Just about every inch on my body is sore today! Not sure if i am just out of shape, or if I'm just getting old haha I also slept funny and have a kink in my neck. I don't wake up because I am so tired when I get to bed, and my alarm gets me up at 5am. Hoping all this physical work helps me lose a few pounds!
Celebrating my dogs 8th birthday today, and then we are headed to the rink.
One more day to go and then the weekend!
Have a great night all :)

Boy do I hear ya on the uneven ground can cause joint and muscle issues.

Feet , hip ,knee, ankles, shoulder, neck, hands, back , it all adds up ….and for some reason I think how it all rolls into the ole referral to the Yellow Brick Road movie the ‘Tin Man’ . Don’t ya wish that all we needed was just a few drops of oil here and there to get thru the day. It seems every year includes new and more adjustments with coping and managing aging. I keep down sizing the garden hoping it will eventually even out in comparison to aging and the garden containment to hopefully eventually the garden mostly get to that place the garden can care for itself . It’s getting there slowly but surely. I don’t grow any more annuals or add new perennial's. To much to deal with at the end of the year clean up. Even with tons of leaves / needles I just mulch them with the mower and blow the rest out to areas to contain and mulch.

Neatness is not a huge priority as it was in the past . No reason to over do it and end up with additional issues when now days it takes more than putting on a pair of garden gloves when gardening. Add all the additional back wrist braces etc.,and protein shakes special gloves and knee braces… It’s worse that dressing up for a wedding for Pete shake.

So here we are still just taking one day at a time knowing that many rewards from our gardens with bring us happiness beyond any other. Thank goodness we have a winter break..

Sjoerd Thanks . It’s all relative in most gardening circles. I see it all the time when new younger members come to our garden club meetings . The advanced knowledgeable mature members sorta trade their knowledge for work and retire from labor to hone their organization skills.
It’s seems to be a natural universal progression .

    Good morning everyone.

Oh for a can of oil @Pacnorwest .....wouldn't that be brilliant!!! :):like: Not so much trying to get on the gloves ..it's the gardening shoes that I have a fight with, trying to get fused feet into them is near impossible at times these days.:chuckle:

No gardening today. We're off to see how my brother is settling down into the new care home, he move in on Wednesday, so relieved he's out of hospital now.
The care home is just a 10 minute walk from us ,so very handy to get to now.
Afterwards we're off into one of our nearby cities for lunch.

    Enjoy your day.:)

Good Friday evening all. Currently 10°C and sunny. Such a busy day, and it is FINALLY the weekend!
I'm excited to finally be able to up-pot my tomato plants tomorrow! Rain or shine, they are going out to the greenhouse and moved into bigger pots!
Dinner and then relaxing is the plan for the rest of today :)

No gardening today. Rainy and chilly.

We cleaned and decluttered the family room from top to bottom. Spring cleaning and then some. It was prompted by residual drywall dust from the bathroom remodel, but needed anyway. Plus, that room was where everything was stored for the remodel. Finally all normal again.

It feels new, but with only what we already had, and less of it.

Next: the living room, which will be easier.

Plus, I made about 20 egg and hash brown burritos and froze them, for snacks later.

I still cant figure out today's crossword LOL.

Good morning everyone, hope you're all well.

Thanks @Pacnorwest , he certainly looked much more relaxed and much less muddled/ confused. Such an enormous relief. :)

Glad you're getting to pot up your tomato plants @Netty , I was a bit late in sowing ours so they haven't reached that stage yet.:(

Oh @Daniel W ....you're like a whirlwind, constantly on the go!!! :) Do you ever put your feet up and chill?? Hope you solved the crossword.:fingerscrossed:

We have our youngest son with us this weekend, sat up late listening to his adventures in South America earlier this year. He always likes to escape our Winter if possible and books out an 8 week holiday around Christmas until mid February and for the last 3 years he been exploring S .America. He has a few more areas yet to visit so has already started planning his next trip out there for the end of this year.
We love hearing his stories and looking through all his videos and photos.

Might get to do a bit in the garden as he plans on meeting up with an old friend later this afternoon.

Hope you all have a super weekend.:)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. Rain is in the forecast, but it hasn't started yet.
Ive got laundry started and now I'm having a coffee and a breakfast round. Once that's done i'll tidy up the kitchen, put another load of laundry on to wash, and then start bringing flats out to the greenhouse. It's tomato up-potting day! :smt026
Have a great day all :)

Netty, enjoy your up-potting! Seeing things grow is such a joy.
Today is a "puttering" day. I will harvest some thyme and hang it to dry, do some minor cleaning in the kitchen, and pet the cat. Petting may take priority over cleaning!
