It's Wednesday and our 53rd anniversary! I don't know what I did to deserve such a wonderful husband, but I'm sure glad I did it. We are both relaxing today, and I'll fix us a very special dinner.

Happy Anniversary MG! 53 years, that is amazing!!
Good Wednesday afternoon all. Currently 24°C and sunny. It;s not too humid, so it didn't feel too hot today. But Thunder might disagree, being mostly black he is avoiding the sun and doesn't want to come to the garden with me. I'll wait until it cools down and take him to do some watering.
I was walking around the veggie garden looking at all the fabulous crops and there are lots of peppers almost ready to harvest, loads of beans, tomatoes and spaghetti squash. I just love this time of year!
Have a great day all :)

Marlin—Wishing you both an enormously happy anniversary. It is a wonderful milestone. You see yourself as lucky, but I’ll bet that your man thinks exactly the same when referring to his spouse. What do you think?
Enjoy your special day, you two.

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes, so kind.
Today is back to normal. I'm baking four pumpkins for pulp, husband is tidying his workshop, and the cat is sleeping on a dining room chair!
Hope you all have a nice, normal day, and thank you again for the anniversary messages.

Nice outside. I was under the weather yesterday, just my age stuff. A little better today.

Might putter a little. Won't overdo it.

Watching old CSI episodes. I'm not crazy about the Miami and NY spin- offs, so took those to Good Will. I like the old Las Vegas ones.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good day everyone. Today we went to take our veggies to the Food Bank and then went home to make more tomato concentrate. A hot job for a hot day.

Daniel take care . I know it’s not easy this time of year. Everything seems as though it all needs to be done at once.
You have been running in the fast lane since last winter. You’re the project king.

I’m at that stage of learning my limitations and relearning how not to over do. It takes time, well maybe years.:) But I’d rather get there on my own than forced.

Sending good vibes your way, your back up to par soon. Gentle hugs. :smt023

Today I tried another marinade for veggie kebabs. This one used orange juice, soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, vegetable oil, vinegar, and hot pepper. It wasn't good at all. Mainly salty. Next time, back to the vinegar / oil / italian herbs.

After about a year of discussing a replacement refrigerator, I signed on to Consumer Reports to choose one. I did a lot of reading reviews and comparison shopping on line. I actually don't want a new one, but life is all about compromise. The old one is from the 1990s, has a loud compressor, and is small -ish. Also, no "features", mainly icemaker and cold water dispenser in door.

The big hold- out for me was the water line. There WAS one when we bought the house, it was leaky, and I had to replace the badly warped kitchen subfloor. That was 12 years ago. I wondered - I had capped the old line back then. Did the line work? The installation required a valve. I felt certain there was no valve.

Here is the old line, still there behind the fridge. No valve. No way can I get into the crawl space to see what's under the house.

I made a trip to the plumbing store. Bought parts. I never used a plastic valve before. Would it work?

    It did!

No leaks! Strong flow, let it run to flush out the sediment (we are on a well. That line hasn't been used since before the filtration system was installed).

So now we are ready for the new fridge. I admit, I will be the one using the cold water and ice maker.

Also, I woke up thinking, will it fit in its spot? Through the front door? I got up and measured multiple times. It should be OK, with about an inch or two to spare.

Daniel the marinade sauce sounds yummy to salty maybe cut the soy. Thanx for sharing. I will give it a try without the soy.
Hope your new fridge fits in just spiffy ! Good job on the water line. :smt023

Glad that valve worked for you, mate. We use similar plastic valves in the allotment with our water sources.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 14°C and sunny. Weatherman calls for some rain today.
I've noticed that I need a sweater in the mornings now, and that it stays dark longer. I've also seen trees shedding their leaves and pumpkins that need picking. Summer is just flying by and I'm just not ready for fall yet!
Sunday is food prep day for the week, so I'll be working on that this morning. Also cleaning out the fridge and finishing the laundry. Oh what an exciting life I live!
Have a great day all :)
