Still further to go, if I am able and nothing else happens. I do feel lighter. I'm not much into clothing and have plenty but might splurge on a comfortable shirt.

On the house, they are closing it up for radon testing. Fingers crossed. I never thought of that. The other inspection is delayed five business days. The realtor noticed a puddle by the furnace - I think it's a leak in the humidifier. As Roseanne Rosannadanna used to say, "If it's not one thing, it's another!"

Time to watch some old Poirot mysteries.

Oreti— that does sound quite interesting and thorough. It is a pity that you will not get some sort of feedback though.
    Anyway, good that you participated.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently 5°C and sunny. We've just come home from the rink, and now its lunch time and then out for a dog walk. Later I have leaves to spread in the gardens and some final fall cleanup to finish. If it doesn't get windy I'll have a fire to burn some brush, but it always seems to get windy in the afternoon. Either way, we are going to enjoy the nice sunny day!
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 1°C and overcast.
I've been for a dog walk, now I've started my meal prep by putting a chicken in the oven. I've had my porridge and coffee and now I'm deciding my day. I always call my sister at 9am Sundays so I have another hour to wait. Hopefully I can get my brush pile burned today. Its looking like a rather slow day today, the way Sunday should be.
Have a great day all :)

    Happy Sunday. :)

I have now officially shifted from outside to inside. The list of "to do before winter" chores is completed. And just in a nic as the white is here to stay now. It is a whole new world of sniffs and tracks for Angus. I have to take him for a second business walk on days like this, as his nose doesn't lift from the snow and trails until he's back at the house, and then he forgets that he didn't perform the necessary morning poop hahaha.

This morning we were up early so I had a flashlight for our walk. Angus was so infatuated with the game trails and smells, that he didn't see a White Tail deer five feet in front of him. I now understand the expression " like a deer in headlights". It was frozen in my spot light until I flickered it and then in silently ran away in the snow. Angus missed the excitement.

Much like Netty, I do a big fall clean room by room. Spring is too busy. Two days ago, all of the outside windows were cleaned as the temps were above freezing. Yesterday the insides of the windows were washed. I went on the roof and cleaned a skylight in my art room that I had never cleaned. The tin was damp, so I wore my felt fishing boots and they worked great. I had to tape a few poles together in order to reach it, but what a difference. It had ash and soot from the forest fires covering it, and because it is tinted I did not notice. That will be an annual addition to the window routine now.

The main cabin area cleaning will be finished today, and then I will move to the mud room and laundry room. But first....a second walk with Angus to try and achieve the mission of the morning. :)

Wow— you have gotten a lot accomplished today. That house cleaning is always such a big job.
I enjoyed reading about your dog walking. The deer story was amazing.
    Stay warm.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 2°C and clear.
I'm up bright and early this morning, to go and kick off a skating club fundraiser! Its a week long cookie sale :)
Walked Thunder in the dark, and his nose was sniffing overtime, the ground and in the air, so I suspect something was nearby. It could have been a rabbit, raccoon, or coyote so we didn't stick around long. He did his business and that was good enough for me haha I'll take him out again when I get home in a few hours.
Have a great day all :)

Since it is overcast and blustery (gentle Texas zephyrs of 30 mph) we aren't doing much outside! I'm making the cranberry chutney for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and husband is puttering in the workshop. I love it when he putters! Something wonderful and handmade comes out of his "puttering". Of course, the chutney isn't bad, either. . . .

It's a cool day today and tonight we are expecting our first double digit lows of winter.

I relocated Hubby's work/dress shirts from the closet in the mud room up to the master bedroom closet in the loft. I thought I had a lot of shirts hahaha. I have been "outshirted". Everything needed washing and is hanging to dry in the loft on the clothes line Hubby built. This is an exciting prospect as now I won't have to package up winter coats for storage. They can remain in the closet in the mud room.

In line with that, all of the lighter winter gear was brought down from the outdoor storage. ( parkas will remain in totes in the storage room for when needed). Winter coats were washed and hung by the fire.

Unused coats were collected and washed for the "coats for all" program that our local churches host every winter. A town day Wednesday will have a few bags of touques, mittens, gloves, scarves and coats donated. As well as some gently used winter boots.

And...homemade ice cream was made today. :) I'll make another batch tomorrow. And then hopefully a few more for the freezer before the kids come at Christmas.

These ones are Madagascar Vanilla. With all of the kids and their partners coming for Christmas, there will be different toppings. Berry sauce ( raspberry, strawberry and blueberry), chocolate fudge, and some liqueurs ( usually Baileys, Kahlua and Maple Cream). And of course whipping cream. Holiday sundays :)
