The Good Day All Thread

Happy Monday We are having a week of "false spring" right now. It's been a crazy jump from lows in the mid twenties C to a peak high of + 14 for a few days. I actually have the bedding on the clothes line today. I can't believe it.

The creek is beginning to open up. We still have sheer ice around the house, but the areas that were ploughed on the main driveway and trails are bare. I saw three robins and two blackbirds on my walk early this morning. Hubby and I will drive to the lake to hopefully get a couple buckets of sand for the ice.

We still have lows of -4 C, so there is still a fire going. But not a roaring all day fire, just enough to keep the chill off. Angus loves this time of year because he can walk on the snow crust and not just stick to trails. He's resting today. He startled a silver tip fox beside the house when he went out for his walk last night. There is no reasoning with him when this happens, he is off like a bullet. He has not chance of catching the fox, but he sure thinks he does. He is quite spent today.

The spring weather is short lived as we are expecting more seasonal lows of - 10 to - 12 C at the end of the week. My friend is on the cusp of calving season, so hopefully it isn't too cool. The babies would love some sunshine.

@Netty - I was looking at the weather pattern map for March, and it looks like west and east trade hats. I'm "in like a lamb and out like a lion", you will get this warmth and follow the regular "in like a lion and out like a lamb". You definitely deserve the lamb. What a year you've had.

My daughter and son are living on Vancouver Island - and they have crocuses up and daffodils about to bloom. sighhhhhh. Next year the plan is to go and visit them in early spring.
