Good morning all. Someone send their recent 100+ temps down to Texas :smt018 We have several days of them coming up.
Started out only 72deg this a.m. so I was able to spend a couple of hours out creating paths around the herb garden with black plastic and mulch and doing some assorted bits and pieces of things I have been itching to do out there.

Have to pick up meds and groceries for Mom this afternoon. If it isn't too miserable out later this evening I hope we can get the gate hung on the herb garden fence.

Good morning all and welcome to the month of August. The triple digit temps will return for us shortly but we did end July with almost 4 inches of rain in my yard and more in other areas. I can only hope that August goes as quickly as the first 7 months of this year have, I am so ready for the end of summer.

I am going with my oldest out to east Texas today to pickup the oldest grandson from camp. The youngest was there too but got really sick with a strep infection and had to come home on Wed.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 13°C and sunny. We had plenty of rain this week so all the gardens are well watered. I hope to catch up on the weeding today and maybe get the last of my seedlings planted out. Have a great day all :)

I have a hot date with the lawn mower this morning... I have had to put it off due to rain for a WEEK so it will be a bear of a project.

Then taking Missy-the-Wildcat to the vet to have blood drawn to check her thyroid fx. Missy, age 13, weighs FIVE POUNDS and it takes three of us to draw blood -- two to hold her under a large towel and one to draw the blood. You have to admire her feistiness, don't you? I hope I'm that tough when I'm an elderly cat!

Wonderful cool morning of 54 degrees. :p Watering the garden. Was happy to go out and find that the possum our dobie had caught last night was only playing possum (again). Second time this week she has caught it. Hope the possum gets smarter before she does.

HUMONGOUS thunder storm at 10 a.m. today! WOW. Lots of rain. Poured buckets. Austin ran out the door when I was checking the downspout (still leaking like a fountain from the top :'( ). I didn't run after him... after about 10 minutes he wanted to come back in -- he was soaked to the skin... and grumped OUT. It was kind of funny.

Good Monday morning all! Currently just 10°C, but sunny and windless. Those nasty winds cut short our boating trip yesterday. Today is a holiday so I'm going to take advantage of the extra day home and get the veggie patch weeded.
Have a great day all :)

Working three days this week -- Mon-Wed -- and then OFF Th and Fr and all of next week!

The nursery centers around here have everything on sale as they clear out for Fall plantings! I'm going to take advantage and buy a few special flowers... Planning time!

Well it's Monday morning here in the North Woods, and it's gray, not blue as Fats once said. Mimi needs to see her surgeon this morning, and we will find out how broken bones are progressing. Some shopping while in the city, and there goes most of the day. 59 this morning 70s later, hope of some sun. Have a good one everyone.

Good morning all, heading back into the 100+ temps for a few days and the rain has come to a screeching halt. Can't complain tho since it is highly unusual for us to get more than a trace of rain in late July thru mid-Sept. My yard got just a little over 4 inches last week and is loving it but the black clay will be bone dry and hard as a rock by Wed.

Tom, I hope Mimi gets a really good report from the surgeon today. Have fun in the city.

See some "mare's tails" in the sky. May get rain by the end of the week. Temps 45 to 85 F. Need to take the doggie girls in to the self-serve bathing facility. Time to freeze some green beans. :stew1:
