Good morning all. Overcast, drizzly, windy and the temperature is dropping like a rock....33F but feels like 21F. Might see a couple of snowflakes later but probably won't unless I get real lucky and happen to be looking out the window when they fall.

TheBip, hope whatever it is that isn't agreeing with your stomach leaves you alone soon.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -9°C and snowing. I have my youngest home from school today with a fever. There seems to be a pause in the kitchen project again ... DH is fixing a snowmobile for a friend today
Maybe I'll start a puzzle with my daughter. Have a great day all :D

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -18°C and snowing. It's going to be a cold one today and tonight will be even colder! Tomorrow's HIGH will only be -21°C. I'd better bring in LOTS of firewood!
    Have a great day all!

Good morning all. Looks like our temperatures are going to settle into a rut for the rest of the month..low 30's at night and mid-50' daytime.
Remembering Feb 2004, when we got a surprise 4 inches of snow on Valentines Day, I guess winter could make a comeback. I can hope for it can't I?

January 6th was my 5th anniversary on GardenStew. I found GS while looking for a place to keep a Gardening Blog and I found soooooooo much more than that. :stew1: :stew2:

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -24°C and sunny. It sure was a cold dog walk this morning and today's high is only -21°c so I think I'll be doing indoor stuff today.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning! I wonder what happened to sunny today. The sun was out for about five minutes this morning. dr washed a load of clothes and hung them out but without the sun they will be all day drying unless of course it rains. Only a 20 percent chance of rain late today but you sure can't trust the weather forecasts these days. It changes every few minutes. I'm about to do a sewing project that I've put off since Thanksgiving. dooley

Good Monday morning all. Currently -26°C with a bit of sunshine. I have some clean up to do today and then I'm going to 'take it easy'. I don't seem to do enough of that these days ;)
    Have a great day all.

Good morning all. Day 1 of the end of January weather usually called 'the rut' But sometimes after a rut like this at this time, some really fun stuff comes along in February. ;)

The invasion will begin in a few days. This area is hosting the Super Bowl on Feb 6th. All sorts of media groups are already building sets and setting up at various locations. Homeland Security has been here for a couple of weeks setting up their equipment, since Chicago isn't one of the teams playing then it isn't likely that the President will show up.
Traffic will be an absolute horror when the fans and teams start showing up. News report last night mentioned that neither Yahoo nor Google maps had updated in over a year so the new stadium where the game will be doesn't even show up when you do a search. The GPS services aren't up to date either. I would hope that they are busy correcting that or there will be a lot of lost and angry people next week. The stadium opened last summer but it took three years to build so you would think the online map people would have considered updating their sites oh, say 4 years ago??

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -12°C and overcast. Today's -12°C temperatures feel almost tropical compared to the last few days!
My washing machine plumbing is frozen ... gotta love these old farmhouses! I hope to get it thawed out soon because I have a mountain of laundry to do.
Have a great day all :D

    Good morning everyone,

Eight more inches of white fertilizer fell from the sky last night, I think I will stare at it for awhile, maybe it will go away.:) I think a rabbit has made a winter home under the deck. Two evenings in a row I have seen him in the same shoveled walkway. Suppose the rabbit sees his shadow? I don't have a ground hog anymore:( Next adventure is to look for animal tracks in the snow:) The trucks keep piling fertilizer at the end of the driveway. The last time this happened my snowblower ate the newspaper:(
    Type with you later,
    Jerry
