We are waiting out the second day of a blustery winter storm. A few more inches of snow to top off what we already have, but the biggest headache is the ice that came down first, and now the winds of 20 to 30 mph, and very, very cold temps. It is 8°F right now, and will surely dip below zero tonight. Not fun to be outdoors at all. We started a new 1000 piece puzzle. It is "Birds of the Backyard" looks like fun.
Just last week, we had a nice warm day with almost 60°F! Go figure...

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -12°C and still in the middle of our "Groundhog Day Storm" . The school's are closed so we are all nestled up inside. I brought in plenty of firewood yesterday so there is no need to go outside - except to walk the dog! She is still convinced that we need to go for a walk so I guess I'll bundle up and take her. The things we do for our pets! Have a great day all :D

Good morning all. I didn't get up really early this morning so I don't know what the overnight low was but it is only 14F/-10C at this time with a wind chill of -2F/-18C.

To lessen the chances of longterm power outages, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), has ordered rotating outages in 8 regions of Texas for the day. It hasn't happened here yet but will at some point. 15 minutes without power to help keep it under control is not that big a hardship, just hope it doesn't last longer. All three of our computers have their own backup power supply that will keep them running for 30-45 minutes so hopefully that will keep us connected to the outside world ;)

Good Morning. It is bright and sunny this morning but windy. We got a total of 14 inches if snow and drifts 4-6 foot. It is still very windy but I can see fine from my window. A good day to stay in off the roads. I hope all in the storm path are inside and warm. wannabe

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -23°C and sunny. Yesterdays storm ended just before the dinner hour and then we had another light dusting overnight. All in all we got about 30cm of snow although its hard to tell for sure because of the drifting. I have a couple of drifts in the yard that are waist deep. It sure made for an interesting dog walk this morning!
Today is shopping and errand day.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Nothing much has changed outside since Tuesday afternoon. The ice is still on the ground but the roads are slushier now from more and more traffic. Schools are closed again today and some Super Bowl activities have either been cancelled or moved indoors where possible.
We have a very slight chance of snow tonight into tomorrow and another one coming next Monday evening.

My evergreen perennials have, for the most part, turned brown now...wonder if they will come back in a month or so.

It would feel cold anywhere you went after Malaysia, Frank. It's cold and windy here with a chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning and then it will warm up for a few days. I just get warm when it gets cold again. I'm ready for summer, forget spring. dooley

Good day all. The wind is really battering us here in Galway. Difficult to sleep with all the howling air outside :)

Hope you all have a nicer day than here.

Good Morning all!!! It snowed overnight, there is 4 inches on the ground and everything else standing still and coming down lightly now. Of course I have photos, will get them posted shortly.

Schools and businesses are closed again, especially since there is almost 1.5 inches of ice under this new snow.
The hoses to the washing machine have been frozen solid since Tuesday morning, won't thaw until sometime tomorrow when the temp goes above freezing.

We only got about inch and a half and a lot of it has melted already. I'm not fond of snow so I wish the sun would quit coming and going and just stick around and melt the rest of it. dooley
