Good morning all. What a difference a few hours make...the high temp on Friday was 28 but yesterday we were in the 50's. Most all of the snow is gone, part of our yard stays in the shadow of tree limbs when the sun is at it's hottest so that area looks really sad, but nothing about 6 inches of snow wouldn't improve. ;) There is a possibility of more glorious white stuff on Wednesday with temps back down below freezing for a couple of days.

But for today, the hoses to the washing machine have thawed so I have a week's worth of laundry to get done.

Good Monday morning all. Currently -6°C and still snowing. I would like it to stop snowing now, I think we have enough. I have to walk through knee high snow just to fill the bird feeder! Today, I have to fiddle with my other computer. For some reason the anti-virus says to re-install. That CAN'T be good!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Sunny and warming up today and tomorrow but then Wednesday will be pretty much a repeat of last week...ice, sleet and snow...but it should only last 2 days instead of 4.

Super Bowl is over, the Greenbay Packers won. Tom is happy I know. ;)
There were some problems...the NFL installed some temporary bleachers way up in the 'nose bleed' section (more seats + more money afterall), 400 of which couldn't be used because they had not been installed properly which meant 400 fans who had paid for those seats weeks ago had to go home or back to the hotel and watch it on TV. Entrance gates were closed but no one told the gate keepers who ended up sending fans walking the entire length of the stadium a couple of times before they could find somewhere to enter....something like a quarter of a mile end to end from what I can find out.
And Christina Aguilera warbled her way through the National Anthem and I do mean warbled and it sounded terrible and on top of that she flubbed the words leaving out a whole line.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -18°C and very windy. Is was an absolutely brutal walk down to catch the school bus this morning! Days like this I'm not so fond of having a long driveway. Today I hope to get my computer issued resolved.
Have a great day all :D

Good morning all. The sunny calm day before the storm hits. From the sound of it we will be getting anywhere from 2-5 inches of snow tomorrow on top of the layer of ice that falls after midnight tonight. I need to remember to get the bird feeders and suet holders all filled tonight. We took the window screen off the front window so I can better photos of the birds out front this time and will be joining the thundering herd at the grocery this afternoon to pick up things like milk, chocolate and any new gardening magazines that happen to be on the stand. Then I will set for two more days of forced and welcome hibernation while the world outside is a crisp, quiet white. ;)

And I have started doing more genealogy...any one got Brown, Headrick or Hedrick, Rapp or Glenn in their family? ;)

Well Fiddlesticks!!!! It was going to be a good morning but the eagerly anticipated 3-5 inches of snow has turned into less than one inch of snow on top of 1/2 inch of ice.
As the weatherman explained it, "Dry air has unexpectedly shown up in the mid levels of the atmosphere and is being ingested by the winter storm."

Many businesses are closed anyway because of the ice on highways and schools are closed again.

Good day all. Ireland is so very peaceful. Coming from a busy city beforehand it is quite noticeable :)
    Hope your day is bright!

Good Friday morning all. Currently -18°C and sunny. This is the last day of the cold snap ... tonight the temperature will continue to rise and we will have a few days with temperatures over freezing. I really need that LOL Winter is really getting to me! My computer doesn't seem to be working again...I don't know what is wrong this time. I have the windows screen but nothing seems to be working. I wish I could afford to buy myself a new one! Until then, I guess I'll be using the computer in my sons room.
Have a great day all :D
