Evening all. Only 107 today and another high temp record was broken, that seems to be all we are doing here lately. Well, that and watching my plants either die or go dormant.....at least I hope they are going dormant.

A week from today we will tie the record of 42 consecutive days at 100 or higher. The only problem is 2011 seems to be acting like a power trip hungry year and wants to continue the streak for the rest of August.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. Finally a Saturday off and it's going to rain!! That's OK, there is plenty to do inside too and the gardens could use some water. Have a great day all :)

Good morning everyone, along with the birds I will be foraging for seeds or marking plants to keep an eye on so I don't miss the opportunity to collect incapsulated miniature versions of next years flowers.

Happy Saturday morning. Trying to get an early start on the chores. Time to mow again, and I really need to do some weeding. But first I have to go into town for groceries. Why didn't I just stop on my way home from work?

Good morning everyone, rain has the garden activity at a standstill but the flowers are enjoying the extra drink of water. I swapped the bird feeders and the birds moved with the feeder, interesting. Cool today , 70's.

Happy Sunday morning. Supposedly our last 100+F day for a while... back to 98 & 99 for a while. It'll feel like a cold front! :-D
Overdid it bit yesterday, so today will be light duty work. Need to tend to the bird feeders. Perhaps get a few weeds out. And I must make some time to do some housecleaning. There's stuff in the refrigerator that looks like it could be one of Jerry's experiments! ;)

Morning all. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, do you want to guess which thousand words I would use to describe this one....

We will tie the 42 consecutive day record from 1980 on Friday and break it on Sat. I am proud of 2011 but now I just wish the freakingly scary monster would go away.

Holy Smokes Toni! I honestly don't know how people function there in that heat for so long. A/C is a must for everyone I guess. I hope the "freakingly scary monster" goes away soon. Sending cold and snowy thoughts your way...

WOW ! Toni, your lows are too hot for me. Hang in there and before you know it the freezing rain will be back, none too soon I expect. Maybe a little vacation to get out of the heat. I've got a cabin you could visit, but with our 60 degree highs you might freeze.

Morning all. I'm waiting for things to dry out some before going out to work. Yes, we finally had rain...
We are getting a bit of relief from the hot temps, it will reach high 80s F today. The rain is welcome, I got the rain barrel filled up again, and the trees, grass and plants are happier now. I wish I could send some rain to you Toni. :-|

Good morning everyone, is it my imagination or is it hot around here.......oh!! Toni just made a hot post. :) It's a cool 76°F but muggy as it rained last night. The garden is wet, I think I will wait till it dries off.

Usual old hot weather again today. I didn't have to work today, so I got up early anyhow and did some weeding and cut the grass. All that's left is the trimming and that will just have to wait until this evening.
Have to go over to my brother's so he can fix the fan in the my truck.... it only blows on high!

Good day everyone, the store I'm in has just installed free WiFi and air conditioning just made 'gardenstewing' better.
