Gooooooood morning all. It is 68 degrees this morning, something that hasn't happened since May 27th except for one morning in mid-June.

I'm not in the yard yet but I will be, I just have to get myself back in the habit after almost 4 months of doing nothing more out there than moving the water hose and wanting to cry over the condition the heat had put my plants in.
But I guess it is time to get out there and count my losses. Pull up weeds that weren't bothered in the least by the heat and drought and cut back the really suffering perennials.

It was so nice when we got up this morning. Then, the sun came up. BUT it's not so very hot today, only forecast to be 89 degs. supposed to be 58 in the morning and not so windy. We are off to College Station again in the morning. Hopefully the last visit to a doctor for a bit. Still windy today though and blowing stuff around and knocking things around. A tree came down in the neighbors yard yesterday. It fell across the road. Rufus and dr moved it out of the road. Alex helped pull the branches up into the yard. I watched.

Happy Tuesday morning. What a great weekend. Rainy all day Saturday and mostly on Sunday. I ended up with 1.25 inches in the rain gauge. The cloudy weather was a nice break from the blistering sun. And yesterday was absolutely gorgeous.
Nice and cool in the morning and breezy all day with temps in the low to mid-90s. And this morning, it was in the upper 50s! High only expected to reach the mid 90s. And it's expected to be like that all week. Too bad there's not a chance of rain in the forecast... but the cooler temps have everyone rejoicing... especially the plants!

And here's hoping the hard-working fire department can get a handle on all the wildfires around Texas!

A bright and sunny North Woods good morning to you all, it's a brisk 37º (2.7ºC) this morning. We had frost warnings last night, but I don't think it got down that far. We covered flowers anyway. This morning there was a fog over the lake, it's loosing heat, soon it will be too cold for swimming. No wind, the trees are motionless, and the water is like a mirror. I think it is going to be a beautiful day.

Good morning all. I tried to get outside yesterday but too many other things took up my time.

We got two more rain barrels set in place, filled them with water and are letting the ground under them settle before actually hooking them up to the guttering. No big hurry since rain isn't in our forecast for at least 2 weeks.
At that time I took a good look at the back garden and I don't know if I will ever get it cleaned out of dead perennials and weeds, which must have loved the heat since they are the tallest things out there now. So I didn't even try to get out there today, too depressed by what I know is waiting for me.

Good day everyone, a busy day doing everything except gardening. Well it rained so that put a damper on outside activities. Maybe tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday morning! Another nice and cool start to the day. Highs should only be in the mid 90s. Wish I were at home playing in the yard instead of cooped up in this office!

Good day everyone, the day slips by when you are having fun. Went out to dinner for our 32nd anniversary. The weather was wet but the inside of the restaurant was warm and dry.

Happy Thursday morning. And another beautiful cool start to the day! I'm loving these 60F temps in the morning and with highs only in the lower to mid 90s... it's just too nice!
I even get to enjoy sitting outside again when I get home from work instead of hiding inside in the AC.
