Good morning everyone, wet and cold seems to be the mantra for the day. I wonder if people in tropical/ semi-tropical climates wish for cold? The plants are starting to show that they don't like the cold.

    Good morning everyone,

Its cool here but its stopped raining, supposed to be a nice weekend too, which is good since its our Thanksgiving here, and we pick up Kait on Friday.

Was supposed to go down to Toronto today, but the parts arent ready so it'll be tomorrow....off to a Mennonite farm that does work for us shortly.

Good morning everyone, we seem to be stuck in a wet pattern. Rain and flood warnings are in the forecast. I am bringing in more house plants.

    Happy Tuesday afternoon.
Had a stupendous time out on the west coast visiting with family! The weather was excellent... especially for anyone escaping the temps we've had in Texas! I was walking around in flip-flops and capris while everyone else had on long pants and sweat shirts! :-D
Now to turn my attention back to the flower garden. I need to do some weeding and cutting back and seed gathering.
Perhaps even put in some bulbs for next spring?

Good day everyone, the houseplant forest has been transplanted inside for the fall/winter. Critter check has turned up one worm so far. The Peruvian apples (Peruvious impaleus) will remain out for one more day.

    Good morning everyone,

Its cold and frosty here....yep we got frost overnight, i didnt cover anything either, so who knows whats left out there...I'll check it soon, going to cut the grass today, and then off to the grocery store, its our Thanksgiving here this weekend and i dont want to go near that place after today, plus tomorrow we are off to bring Kait home for the weekend, so that takes a whole day of driving.

    Happy Thursday morning.
We're finally cooling down here. Low temps in the mid60s and highs in the low 90s. Whew! Everything living thing has got to be feeling better now that we're not being scorched.
Still no sign of rain. lots of dead grass, trees, etc all over the area. :'(
One report said that the Houston area has more dead trees now than from Hurricane Ike... except most are still standing. I believe them.

Morning all. I was working in the garden yesterday and kept finding the ID markers from plants that just didn't make it through the summer, no roots left either so they are history.

Cheryl, there was a news report about the dead trees around here too and you can't drive anywhere without seeing cooked trees and shrubs. Once the water restrictions are lifted the landscapers and plant nurseries are going to be really busy.
The city parks in Ft. Worth will be loosing between 500-1000 trees and plans on replacing them with Texas natives....duh, they should have been native trees in the first place!!

Good day everyone, everything is drying out and it is looking good for a crisp fall day. An apple pie is in the works with fresh picked apples.
