    Good morning everyone,

Its a cool and frosty morning here....supposed to be a little warmer for the weekend though.

I have some bedding and towels in the dryer, plan on washing the truck, and maybe do a little more raking.....this darn cold is still hanging around, my neck and ribs hurt from coughing, but it does seem like its getting better, Brad has it too....i've been drinking a pile of tea and honey!!

Have a busy weekend planned, was going to go and see Kait this weekend, but we'll go next weekend instead, dont want to pass this cold to her, especially when she has exams coming up...Natalie has had this cold, so she's fine.

Good Friday morning all! Currently a chilly -3°C and every thing has a thick layer of frost. Dug up the last of my tender bulbs yesterday just in time I think! Today the yard clean up continues.
Have a great day all :D

Well, Today is Turkey Day. I get so many turkeys each year. I had 2 left a few weeks ago and realized that I was going to have at least 2 more by the end of November. Wow. So I cooked one a few weeks age and today the last one went into the oven. The last 3 Turkeys I have cooked have been extremely wonderful.I really don't do that much to them but I do watch them very carefully and never over cook them.

About a year ago I had so many I stripped 2 carcass in the raw state and then frozen them or canned the meat. I always make broth or something with the remains and can it in pints or put 2 cups into zip lock baggies and freeze it.

I use my chicken or turkey broth every time a recipe calls for water, like rice and of course for gravy and sauces.

Well, That's what I am doing today. It's mostly an easy job till the turkey needs to be carved and taken off the bones.

Good morning all. This is one morning pretty much everyone around here is glad it isn't raining....except me of course, I would have loved to wake up to sleet hitting the ground (Ice Pellets to some of you all) Best I can tell, the temp got down close to freezing (32F/0C) last night.
I made cloches for the newly planted Hollyhocks, so hopefully they stayed comfy last night.

I'll wander through the yard later to see if any annuals, Blue Daze for instance it's been wilting with the temps in the 40's lately, are still hanging on.

Making one more batch of soap this morning, Grapefruit scent for my youngest. I made Cinnamon for hubby, Nag Champa for me and Gingersnap for oldest daughter and grandsons yesterday.
After the soap I need to get some candles made, I am almost totally out of all scents/colors.

Happy Friday morning. A cold start to the day... it was down in the 30s overnight and I had to scrape ice of the windshield of the truck this morning. It wasn't super thick... but ice just the same. But the sun is out and it's supposed to be up to the 70s this afternoon.
I brought in a few plants that don't like the cold. Some will stay indoors until spring... but a couple of the others will go back outside until winter really shows up.

Good morning! Ice on our truck windows this morning, too. Checked my garden. Everything seems okay yet. Went to some yard sales this morning. I didn't buy much. dr didn't buy much either. So, we came home. The sun is shining but it's still cool out. Maybe sausage and kale soup for lunch. My fingers must be cold they keep hitting the wrong keys. Oh, well! Have a happy day.

Well, Good afternoon all, I can't believe that we have had 7 days of sunshine in a row and it's been warm and a few more days of sunshine in the fore cast.   I can't remember when the last week of all sunshine and no precipitation was. Seriously! Lots of cleaning up getting accomplished out in the gardens this week and more to finish yet. I hope we keep on having sunshine for a while as I have quite abit more to get done. Hope you all have a great week end!

good Saturday morning all. We had a thick frost overnight here too Penny, but the sun is rising so I'm sure it will melt soon. It is still -3°C though.

Well, the turkey turned out wonderful. We had a turkey salad for dinner and then I froze the rest separated in dark and light meat. I also got 24 cups of broth. It's all frozen now.

Today, this evening, it's off to a concert with the hubby. He will take me out to dinner on the way. It's about 1 hour away. Big date night.:D

Happy Saturday morning. Another cold one. I believe the low overnight was in the upper 30s. But it's supposed to get up 80 today. That'll be warm enough to get outside and piddle around. Hubby's supposed to start painting the house today, maybe I'll lend a hand.

Good morning everyone. Lazy and slow start to the day. Heavy frost just now burning off. I'll be hauling manure and chipping/shredding stuff to layer the beds with. Have to install a new over the stove microwave sometime this weekend too.

Good Saturday Stewbies. A chilly but sunny start to my day. Watching all the birds coming in for a bite. Today my family will gather to celebrate my Grandson's 6th birthday. (Noah's birthday is the 10th, but we'll start early.) :D
    Have a good day!
