Good morning all. The temperature here has been dropping since early morning when a cold front moved through, should only be in the 20's tonight. But back up to the 70's the rest of the week.

I wish there was some rain with this front but the Mexican Plume has moved back over top of us..aka 'The Heat Cap' It moves up from the high plateaus of Mexico every summer and keeps us hot and dry but only once in a while will show up in January. This plume shouldn't last very long since there is a stronger cold front supposed to arrive early next week and push it away from us.

Hello again, We've had so much precipitation lately that the top inch or so of soil is more like a slurry than Terra Firma. From single digit wind chills (fahrenheit)to upper 50's, in just a couple of days, then down again in a couple of hours. Makes dressing for work a challenge. Garden planning is going apace. Chimney repair too  . It's good to have the time to visit the stew again.

Good day everyone, a busy day today. As the cold weather approaches from the northwest, high winds and chilly temperatures will have us bundled up tomorrow.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -9°C, windy, with sunshine. The sunshine is nice, but the wind is very cold. Yesterday we hit a high of 8°C, had heavy rain, then a flash freeze, and high winds with gusts up to 90 km/h. The house was shaking! I didn't sleep well because of it so I am tired today. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning! What a difference a day makes. Yesterday... overcast & drizzly (got around 1/8th inch of rain)... and hot!
Last night, the temps were in the 40s and only a high in the mid60s for today. But there's not a cloud in the sky!

Lovely snowy day today. Much more snow than we are used to so everything is slow or in stop motion. Good morning to sit with a cup of hot java and watch the flakes fall.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -6°C and overcast. Light snow in the forecast for this morning. The fridge is empty again so it must be time to go shopping.
Have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday morning! Temps in the upper 40s last night and they should go up to the lower 70s today. No chance of rain. I sure wish I was at home preparing new flower beds!

Surreal outside this AM...sheet ice from freezing rain on top of a foot of snow. Electrical lightning from power lines being dropped from falling tree branches. A good morning to cozy up inside. Can't wait until it is light to take photos.. Now where did I put my ice climbing gear...oh yeh I don't have any. ;)

Happy Friday morning. Sure feels like spring with low temp in the mid 60s and the high in mid 70s.
I do believe today is going to be a nerve-wracking day at work... nothing but problems since I unlocked the doors!

Good morning all, almost 60 this morning and should be close to 80 by afternoon.

I am going to start working on resizing the path in the backyard. Now that we don't have to mow the yard (we got rid of the riding mower last year) the path from the shed to the gate can be made more narrow which means more room for plants in the beds on either side of it.

It is cold, cloudy & softly snowing. Looks pretty out, through the window.
Toni has a nice project, working on her path.It is always great when the end result is more room for plants!
We have an acerage but our yard isn't huge.We have extended out beyond the old yard but the older I get the more I like gardens close to the house. Intimate & packed with color.

Good day everyone, snow has dusted the area with a fluffy coating of about an inch. More is expected tomorrow. The snowblower may get some use. 59 days till spring, 59 days till spring, 59 days till spring.
