Good Groundhog day everyone, depending on where you live you get a nice spring or a foot of snow. :-( Get your groundhog a sun parasol.

We never saw the sun all day. When we left this morning there was dense fog. It didn't lift until we were nearly to College Station. Then, it was gray clouds. It poured rain all of the way home nearly as bad as last week except it was daylight so we could see where we were going. Water was rushing over the road in spots and the truck wanted to follow it. I'm glad it wasn't deep. I think rain might be in the forecast for tomorrow but I haven't gone and looked. It didn't rain here today though. It must have went south of us. Cherylad must have gotten some.

Happy Thursday evening. I had another foggy commute to work this morning. And it was drizzly off and on all day. I checked the rain gauge when I got home, but there wasn't much at all, Perhaps 1/16th of an inch? So, yes Dooley... the rain was down this way... but didn't make it to my house.
But it's drizzling again now and there's more rain expected tomorrow. The weather guy said we're actually ahead in the rain numbers for the year! Now... if we just don't fall behind so drastically like last year.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. I'm not feeling very ambitious today. Might be a day of stewing, facebooking, and pinterest :)
    Have a great day all.

Happy Friday morning. A misty start to the day with 40% chance of rain this afternoon and highs in the mid to uppper 70s. North of me, about an hour's drive, received NINE inches of rain overnight/this morning.
I noticed on my drive home yesterday that the Trinity River was up to a normal level... maybe they opened the dam in anticipation of all that rain?
And speaking of rain... looks like it's going to be a rainy weekend. Again... thanks for the rain... but could I get one day to play outside? :stew2:

Good day everyone, the mild weather has me thinking wild thoughts of an early spring. I hope I did not say that too loud. An early spring would be nice.

It rained off and on all day here. Temps in upper 70's. Too wet to do anything outside. It's thundering in the distance so someone is getting more rain than we are at the moment. Heard there was a lot of heavy rain around us last night. We got some but not a great lot. Same today, it rained but no great lot today. Hope it stops enough for me to plant my pansies and allysum and dig some weeds out of the daffodils tomorrow or maybe Sunday.

Just checking back in ... watching the news and they're reporting a tornado and flooding around Dooley's area. Hoping that she an DR are safe.

Good Saturday morning all. Upper 30's F. The weather is cancelling plans for sure. Was going to set posts and fencing for sugar snaps, prepare bed for beets, dig out rusted out lamp-post for replacement. Rain has begun, so I put two pork shoulders in the smoker. Using apple and hickory this time. The turkey and brisket I did last were with cherry and hickory.

Good Saturday morning all. Or should I say it's a GREAT morning! Was out for my dog walk this morning, the sun was rising and it was so peaceful. The only sound I could hear was a cow 'mooing' in the distance. Something in the air made it really beautiful...kind of feeling like spring. Maybe it was just the fact there was SUNSHINE and that is something we haven't seen here in a very long time. I'm definitely going to spend most of the day outdoors today :)

Happy Saturday morning. Lightning and thunder woke me up around 6 this morning. It's been raining ever since. Not real heavy now, but steady. And there's more coming this afternoon and tomorrow. So much for doing anything outside... unless I put on hip-waders! :D Cold front also moving through tonight bringing some cooler temps. Our lows will be in the mid-40 and highs in the upper 60s for the rest of the week. And wouldn't you know... sunshine returns on Monday when I have to go back to work!
Oh well... It's kind of comforting to see the ground so saturated that there's puddles and mini-ponds all around.
Hope Dooley didn't get any damage from the wicked weather in her area yesterday.

Good morning! Very loud night with thunder stalling overhead it seemed and the lightning kept the bedroom lit up like we had the lights still on. A couple times I thought Chance would be up on our bed instead of down on hers. Our road has standing water like the creekbed it resembles after a heavy rain. Funny, there was no wind with it here. Maybe because we are down in a dip. The tree wells are full of water, it's not soaking down into the ground. The bucket on the back deck is half full of water, maybe 4 or 5 inches of the stuff. It's not an accurate measure and I don't have a rain guage so it's just an estimate. I don't think we will go out today unless it dries up a bit and it doesn't look like it well. The sun peeks through but there is more clouds than sun. We did survive the night with no major damage. We may need a nap later today though.

One more hour and the pork shoulders come out of the smoker. 16 hours in a smoke bath should make for some good eating.

Good day everyone, the cooler temperatures are still a reminder that spring is not quite here. Unlike last year at least we do not have to contend with a foot and a half of snow.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -3°C and overcast. It's another peaceful morning, but yesterdays sunshine was a lot nicer then today's clouds. Baking today - my daughter has requested cinnamon buns. Have a great day all :)
