Happy Saturday morning. The rains came around 3:30 this morning. It was really heavy at times with lots of lightning and thunder. It's still raining now, but not a downpour, just a good steady rain. There's still a bit of thunder off in the distance. The pasture looks like a lake! It should all be moved out by earlier afternoon. Hope all the folks on Galveston for Mardi Gras brought their goulashes or hip waders!
Well... I'll be trying to find things to do inside today. Main thing... I want to reconfigure the seed starting area.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -2°c and snowing. It has been quite heavy at times and the ground is white. Today I have volunteered to help with the local soccer club registration for a few hours. I hope the roads aren't too bad! Have a great day all :)

Morning all. Currently 39º and sunny. It seems to have rained last night since the ground is wet, but I didnt hear anything. The bf is at our new house (its moms house but shes renting to us) painting the ceiling in the dining room. We hope to get the entire place painted and carpeted (the old carpet needs to get gone!) before we move in April 1st. Im just chilling until 4 when I go in to work.
Planted some more seeds last night. 2 unknowns, stokes aster and salvia 'rosa'

Good morning all. 3/4 inch of rain was added to my gauge last night/early this morning and it has been sprinkling off/on since then.

No outside work for me, too chilly and wet to play in the dirt besides the soggy black clay will suck the shoes right off your feet and gloves off your hands.

Sounds like a good day to sit, knit and watch movies....I do have a few favorite what I call 'knitting movies' Armageddon being first on the list, closely followed by Practical Magic, Apollo 13, King Arthur, Independence Day, Grumpy Old Men/Grumpier Old Men, Chocolat. But I don't the rain will hang around long enough to watch them all.

Earlier in the fall, I layered several inches of stall muckings and leaves on a weedy area I intend to plant to vegetables. Today, I tilled that in. Looks good. Bad news, when I moved my 35 year old tiller to the back garden to till in the winter mulch, the motor seized. Harumph! Moving equipment back into the garage, I thought I'd start the lawn tractor to charge the battery. It started blowing oil, rings and pistons are shot. Not such a good day for me, although, I do get to get new power equipment!

    Good morning all

Been over two weeks without our computer. Finally got it back and fixed. We have old one that really does the snail pace and thats about all. So glad this one is back along with my pictures and other important stuff. Was really worried I'd lost it all.
Calling for northeastern today. :( Not liking that at all.

Good morning all. Yesterday was my second favorite kind of day.....heavy, dark overcast sky and a steady, rain. There were times when it was more like a drizzle too so there was no flooding around here. Which also means not much run-off into the local lakes from which we receive our water supply so water restrictions still apply.
I found right at 1.75 inches in the gauge this morning.
Should be great working in the yard this coming week, temperatures in the 60-70 degree range.

Happy SUNday morning.Yes... we're expecting sunny skies today. Hopefully the temps will be in the mid 60s. It's very windy out, so as soon as that sun shows it's face, I'll be bundled up trying to get a few plants in containers.
We had just over 4 inches of rain Friday night/Saturday morning. So it's far too wet to try to do anything in ground.

Good day everyone, as the days grow warmer the yard is starting to perk up. I'm tempted to uncover some flowerbeds.

Good Monday morning to all. :)
My daffs came up, (well the leaves) back in late Dec/early Jan. Waay too early and I feared the blooms would suffer. So far they are showing buds and a couple are to the stage of showing a little yellow. I'm not sure what is different, some of the neighbors have bloomed already.
