Good morning all. Cool (actually temperature wise it isn't that bad but it really felt pretty chilly while walking around checking on the progress of the plants breaking dormancy), overcast and dry this morning. Whatever we get is supposed to be moving in around noon.

Cheryl I'll switch today's weather with you but we are driving down to Randy's folks tomorrow for his Mom's birthday lunch so I would just as soon the day be a little dry.

Good afternoon! Still raining. It stops, starts, stops, starts! I go out because it's not raining and I'm not out two minutes and it's raining. It's too wet to do much but I thought I could hoe out a few weeds while they are easier to get out. Rain is in the forecast for the next 10 days. Who turned on the faucet over us? My tomatoes and peppers are standing tall though. I was a little worried about them last night but they made it.
Everyone must have had their fingers crossed.

Good day everyone, spring is biting at the heals of a retreating winter, all we need is some warm days to start clearing flower beds. Still too early to do seeds or hunt for flowers. The nurseries are still hiding behind warm greenhouses. Pansies may show up in late march or early April. If I could light a fire under the daffodils they may grow faster......or not. Perhaps they may not like fire.

Good Sunday morning all! Currently 6°C and sunny. What a beautiful day :)
Hopefully I'll be able to get my shed cleaned out and part of the yard raked today. I notice the neighbor turned his manure pile, so I might have to take my wagon over there too :)

Good Sun AM.First day of daylight savings time.Just heard weather man say he thinks winter is gone & dead.I hope he's right but I doubt it.I was going to put my snow boots away yesterday but decided to wait.I remember having cold frames full of seedlings in April & having to hang a light in for extra warmth. Big snow & school cancelled for 2 days.Of course I do believe the weather is changing. The buzz word is expect extremes.

Happy Sunday afternoon. We got another half inch of rain yesterday. Right around 3p it cleared up and hasn't really rain much since. Today is warmer and it's been drizzly off and on all morning. So I did get a few things done in the garden. But now the storms are moving in. They just issued Tornado warnings for the coastal counties (including mine). So, I'm indoors for the rest of the day. Okay... time to get out the broom, mop and vacuum cleaner! :(

There's not much good about being outside today unless you want to be drenched. My whole yard in deep in water. I hope my plants don't drown. It's rained with thunder and lightning since 7 pm last night. Now, there appears to be a lull and the sky is not so gray. Tomorrow is supposed to be just mostly cloudy and Tuesday is going to be cloudy and Wednesday is going to be raining again.

Oh, the sun just came out. I think I'll put on my boots and go wading.

Managed to get the sugar snaps in. Supposed to rain 4 out of the next 5 days. Late April/early May weather now. That means we'll have lousy Smarch weather late April/early May. Started Toms, cabbage, and kohlrabi. Peppers are finally up and looking not so bad.

happy monday!...what a gorgeous day yesterday, a little cool, but great sunshine. sisters in law came over, had a little party..grilled ribs, hotdogs, hamburgers & zuchinni. everything was delicious! also got a good look at what is happening in the yard..all the bulbs are up and growing, things are coming back to life...absolutely am happy about that! we're supposed to have rain all week...but not very cold, after that i'm sure everything will be switching into 'grow' mode full blast.

Good morning all. We got little rain when you compare it to what Dooley and Cheryl got....1.5 inches in my rain gauge when down around where my in-laws live there is water standing in fields and ditches. That means there was a very weak area in the storms that moved over us and once again the heavy rain was west and east of us....then to add insult to injury the storms closed together just north of us and continued dropping many inches of rain as they moved away.
Very slight chance of rain later this week but it will mostly be east and south of us again.

My plants are loving what they got, standing up beautifully tall and I am finding more and more buds on many of them.

Good day everyone, with the temps in the 70's the first chore of the day was cleaning out flower beds. Painting the bathroom walls ran a very distant second. Happy flowers now see the sun, rain tomorrow.

Happy Monday evening. Today started off "misty & muggy". Which is no surprise with the 2.5 inches of rain yesterday. I had the day of work and needed to go into town for food & stuff. So, I check with my 95-year-old aunt to see if she needed to go too. Well.. after about 3 hours I get her home (town is only 15 minutes away) and help put her stuff away. It was still cloudy but temps were right at 80F. but my "bad" knee was stiff. Darn... I had so many things I wanted to do. With the soggy ground, there was no way I was going to try to mow or haul concrete chucks to line another bed. So, I did a few little things here and there. I almost came inside to lay down because I felt "drained". But then... the sun came out and I had this burst of energy! I took a "rooting" from another aunt's shrub over to her sisters and planted it. Visited for a bit. Dug up a little clump of "Paperwhites". Came home and transplanted and planted a few things, etc.
Wow... someone should bottle sunshine! I'll take a decade supply please.
