We had a quiet day yesterday. The children stayed too long, but they finally left @6p. I guess they actually like visiting mom. We have intentionally left the entire week blank except Ursula must have a vet visit Thursday for teeth cleaning. Greyhounds must have that periodically because they have dreadful teeth.
It's cold out this morning. I want our warm weather back.

Good aftermorning folks and a Happy St.Stephen's Day / Boxing Day to all. A tradition that happens in Ireland today is similar to Trick or Treat in that kids go from door to door. It is call "The Wren" and is a remnant from old Ireland. They would capture a wren (small bird) and go door to door and say a poem. The tradition is dying out however and wrens are never captured anymore.

Had a whale of a time yesterday, very memorable :D Hope you guys did also.

    Current temps: 8 deg C / 46 deg F
Current music: Blur - Trouble In The Message Centre

Off to make a pot o' tea and see if anyone comes around doing "The Wren" :)

    Tuesday 26th - Boxing day.

All quiet on the Western front for about another 1/2 hour and then I have to entertain MIL.
I took piccies of my lot when they visited yesterday for Christmas and I'll try to get them into Photobucket and then posted here later on this evening.
I'd better nip off now and get the floor swept and prepare the meal for the three of us. DD managed to get herself invited to friends today so that she avoids having to see her Gran - typical!!! Probably best though as I hate MIL picking at any of the kids especially at this time of year. Hey maybe, just maybe today she'll be charming, friendly and full of the Christmas spirit for a change.

    Wish me luck!!!! :D :D

Good Morning/afternoon everyone -- 37 and cloudy here this morning. Sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas day from what I've read here--mine was quiet but nice too. Happy St. Steven's Day Frank -- it's interesting to hear about the different traditions. Eileen hoping your day is going well.

Morning all. A Nippy 33 this morning, got below freezing before I got up.

Happy Boxing Day Eileen and Frank.
We had a great day with Lisa, Kenny and the grandsons.
Got home a little after 7, the boys were just so over stimulated. We finished supper, cleaned up the kitchen, got and gave hugs to everyone and scrammed while Lisa put Austin in the shower in their bathroom and Nicky in the tub in the front bathroom.
We hadn't done anything but sit and visit most of the day but were exhausted when we got home.

    27th December.

Well I'm glad it's today and not a repeat of yesterday. MIL wasn't quite as bad as usual but still managed to get a few barbed comments in about the length of Ian's hair, his beard etc. Then she picked at Laura saying HER hair was too SHORT - boy you just cannot win with that woman. :( Anyway she got all her pressies and had a nice meal with us. Maybe next year she'll remember to say thank you as that's all I ask.

Very mild here today and feels more like spring than winter. No rain, no snow but no sun either. One great thing is I can get out into the garden and there are no bugs around as the frost killed them all off. :D
