We just spent the morning clearing up after the gales last night. :( My solar lights were uprooted, plants were strewn everywhere as they, too, were uprooted. Hanging baskets and their brackets were ripped off the fence posts, the fence itself looks kinda weird and out of shape. The arch has been righted now and my statue has been lifted and is now standing as it should.
We were lucky as the chap who lost his hut roof had all the contents of the hut all over the place - power tools ruined etc.

Nothing like the devestation Glenda witnessed but it sure was bad enough for me. |Let's hope we don't get any more high winds tonight. It's now pouring with rain and we seem to have had at least 3-4 inches overnight.

    Happy New Year!
Good Monday morning all. Currently 7 deg here and overcast. There is a giant rain cloud looming to the north which should reach me before too long. I guess it's time to take down all of the Christmas decorations and start the new year.
    Have a great day all.

Happy New Year all. Eileen, how awful to have so much damage. Are these sorts of winds normal for that part of the world? I am glad you and yours are safe.
We are chilly this morning and the heat is on. At least the rain has stopped.

Good new Years and Good Morning. Eileen, hate to hear about your bad weather. Wind is a terrible force. :'( Good day here, hubby went on to work and I have the whole day at my disposal. What to do? Work on something fun. We're doing gourd art here and it is going absolutely great. :)

Happy New Year everyone -- It's cloudy and in the 40's here this morning. Kind of damp because of all the rain we had yesterday. Gee Eileen, I'm glad you and your family are okay that was quite a storm you all had. Hope you all have a good day and enjoy the first day of the new year.

Good morning! It's sunny and going to 60F. Hope everyone has nice weather for today and tomorrow and the day after. Well, I guess we will need some rain sometime but the wind and cold can stay away. I'm looking forward to summer now. I've had enough winter. Dooley

Also so sorry to hear about the rotten weather and the damage - let's hope that's as bad as it gets for all of you this year!

We went to see a show last night, then made lots of noise with pots and pans as neighbors shot off fireworks. Not a bad New Year's really, though of course very late!

Gooood aftermorning all on the second day of the brand new year. Hope you all had a great start! :) Weather in Ireland seems to have calmed again somewhat, hope all is settling where you live to.

Not long before life really starts to begin again in gardens all over the world, in fact some may already be seing life as global temperatures seem to be higher all over. That could be dangerous for young growth however if a cold snap decides to show its face.

    Current temps: 9 deg C / 43 deg F

Tuesday already? Wow. As always best wishes for the day.
