Any morning that includes thunder, lightning and rain is a Great Morning all. Not much rain, just sprinkles so if it continues like this for about the next 32.5 days there might end up being 1/4th of an inch in the rain gauge. But the sun is NOT shining for a change and I love hearing the roll of thunder!!!

Good Friday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast. Rain is in the forecast today and it is much needed. I have the day off today but I'm not feeling well so I think I won't be doing too much. Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. Finally! Seems like the week has just dragged along. We got a pretty good storm in the wee hours of the morning. Lots of rolling thunder and lightning and most importantly around 1.25 inches of rain. And there's more on the way today and tomorrow. I'm gonna have some happy plants... and lots of weeds!

Good morning! We had lots of thunderstorms roll through here yesterday. Started about 4 pm and kept up until nearly 11 pm. We got two and a half inches of rain. It's cloudy this morning and forecast says 80 percent chance of rain yet this morning. Garden already loves it. Summer squash is blooming like crazy this morning.

    Good morning all.

So THAT'S where all the rain was!! My yard got a whoppin' 1/4th of an inch. There is a slight chance for more today, probably another 1/4th inch only though.

Taking the grandson's shopping for Mother's Day gifts this afternoon. They know how hard the last two years have been on her and love the chance to pamper her, so I take them shopping before the three special holidays and her birthday. I do let them get carried away most of the time but watching them get excited about what they will be giving her is my thrill.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently just 6°C and overcast. We had some much needed rain yesterday. My Hosta obsession seems to be continuing ... bought my first plant of the season and it was a new Hosta 'Praying Hands'. Now I just have to make a spot for it somewhere in the garden. Or maybe make a new garden  I have grass to cut today if it dries up enough. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all. Is this May? Well it sure doesn't feel like May! Cold wind is making the temperatures feel like February.
    Have a great one all!

Happy Saturday morning. That big storm yesterday left me with over 2.5 inches of rain and then we got almost another inch overnight. Plus there's still a 50% chance of rain today. We really needed it, so no complaints. Plus it's a good time to get the weeding done. The grass needs mowed but it'll have to wait until at least Monday when things will be dryer.
No plans in the garden today, my co-worker's son's funeral is this afternoon.

Good morning all. Not another drop of rain since Thursday up here so all those wonderful storms around the state still left only 1/4th of an inch on my garden.

So far this year we have gotten half the rain amount we got last year. Going into yet another record setting hot and dry summer on less water than last year doesn't bode well for the survival of gardens and farm crops... or my mental well being.

Good Sunday morning all, and Happy Mother's Day! It's a cool morning out there, only 5°C! I have moved all my tender plants to warmer places, but there is still a chance of frost tonight so I am worried about my Lilac's. Today I am hoping to get my veggie plots roto-tilled. Have a great day all :)

Happy Sunday morning. And Happy Mother's Day. It's a beautiful day here. The ground is still too wet to mow... maybe tomorrow. But it's the perfect time for me to thin out the iris bed and pull weeds.
But before I start to play in the yard, I'll be going to the cemetery to bring my mom some flowers. And this afternoon I want to go visit by godmother and see how many of the other aunts I can catch at home.
Oh yeah... update on my sailing brothers: The Professor just sailed 3 weeks non-stop from the Galapagos to French Polynesia. The Dragon recently made it to the Galapagos and is preparing to make the same journey. They will meet up somewhere over there in about a month.

Monday again, and that means back to work. It's cold out today, currently just 4°C and overcast with wind. Nasty day yesterday ... hail, snow flurries and wind. Risk of frost here tonight. After that the weather warms up again. I can't wait! Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Another beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. I think the ground is dry enough for mowing today... at least the part that gets done with the push mower.... so that'll be my main chore today.
But first I need to go grocery shopping. And then visit two of the aunts and bring them some of the purple iris I dug up yesterday.

Good morning! The sun is shining and it's going to be a good day here today. I'm going out to plant those flowers I bought at Lowe's last week. Rain and hospitals got in the way of that until now.
You all have a good day!
