Good Friday morning all. Currently 9°C and overcast. Today is the beginning of our 3 day fall fair. My daughter and I worked hard and submitted almost 50 items for the show. The judging was last night so today we will get to see the results of our work. She looks forward to riding the midway too! Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. Just a few hours until my 3-day weekend starts! There's alot of stuff I need to get done in the garden this weekend. We have decent chances of rain on Sunday & Monday... so I'd better get busy first thing in the morning.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 9°C and sunny. It was very cold last night, but I don't think we got frost. I moved some plants inside just in case. Housework this morning and then back to the fair this afternoon and evening. Have a great day all :)

Happy Saturday evening. I got alot accomplished today... but not everything. Mainly I wanted to give everything a really good drink... and cut off/dig up the dead stuff.
I got the chance to use out my idea of putting in the plant food in one of the rain barrels and then watering with the hose. It took pretty much all of 55 gallons of water to just get the containers and a few plants that seem to really need a feeding. It worked pretty good for the plants close to it, but there just wasn't enough pressure to reach plants further away. But, it did save some "mixing" time by just filling a bucket from the barrel. And then Ma Nature helped out with a brief rain shower. I must have looked silly out there watering while it was raining. But darnit... it felt good! :D
Tomorrow... weeding and spreading some compost.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 9°C and overcast. I'm a little tired today, having stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the 'Demolition Derby' at the fair. As I was sitting there, I remembered why I didn't go to these often ... the noise, the smell, the destruction... not my idea of a good time! Oh well, on with my day ... today I am cooking up all my fresh tomatoes into sauce. Have a great day all :)

Happy Sunday morning. Need to get out there and spread some compost and do the weed-eating. Then I want to go visit the aunts (after I shower of course). :stew2:

Morning all. The early morning temperature is getting a tiny bit cooler...70-75 deg instead of 80-85 deg like during the summer. But the daytime temps are still in the mid 90's and I am really, really tired of that!!!

Rain from the first hurricane of the season will be only as close as 540 miles south of me in the southern most tip of Texas, so there isn't even a slight chance of it getting here.

Happy Monday morning everyone :) Afraid not so happy for me today as I am choked with the cold. The walk to work in the low temperatures this morning didn't help either! Need a cup of tea to heat me up!

Happy Monday afternoon. No work today. So I went and renewed my driver's license. Can you believe I was the only one at the DMV? I was out of there in 10 minutes. Wish I realized my truck's inspection is due this month, I would have gotten that done this morning too. Oh well... there's still time.
So... I'm now my aunt's driver to town on my Monday's off work. I knew she would be calling to go run her errands, so I didn't do my shopping over the weekend... can't see going to the grocery store twice! So, I took her to the bank and to get her car registered. And then to the grocery store. And then to a gas station to fill up the air in the tires... one was almost flat. Unloaded her groceries... unload my stuff from her car to my truck and then home and unload and put them up. Whew!
My house stinks... like an old lady's house. So I have the doors and windows open, ceiling fan on high, box fan by the door and AC unit on fan. And it's not the whole house, just the living area. Can't find out where the smell is from. Anyhow... so it's a little on the warm side... so I think I'll go visit another of the aunts.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 1°C and dark. I did notice a layer of ice on the vehicles outside :( So sad to think that my gardening season is almost over. Off to work, where I am sure the warm lake kept the frost away. Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday afternoon everybody. Nowhere near as wet and windy as it was yesterday but still a lot cooler. As Netty said, it is sad to think the gardening season is almost over. Or at least it is here in Scotland.

Happy Tuesday morning. Back to work for me. Our weather is still about the same mid 90s for the highs... but I did see in the forecast that we will be cooling off this weekend. One day the predicted high is only 88F! woohooo! And there's a good chance of rain coming up (hopefully).
