Good morning! Cool here this morning but it's up to 4 degrees already. Cold coming this week though. Not good for arthritis. Knee and hip are feeling achy. Come on sunshine!

Got call if I could give the sermon at church. Minister was sick. Friend been sending nice emails. And I change names to church members. Being small church worked out well. Working in beds. Not windy. But have meeting -to make our goals for this year at church. I think main theme should be Get Buts in the seats.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. The winds from yesterday carried on through the night, and even increased intensity through the night. They were calm when I let the dog out this morning, but have since picked up speed again. Now there is a special weather statement for the area ... strong winds changing direction to the NW and bringing snow flurries. I am not impressed as I have to drive to the big city today for an appointment with my daughter. Skating tonight as well. Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Another beautiful day in-store... until this evening when that cold front is supposed to move in bringing temps getting near the freezing mark.
Today I need to drive my aunt into town so she can do some grocery shopping. And then I need to configure something to cover up the Callas. Their containers are too big to move to the winterhouse. Then I guess I'll just be piddling around the rest of the day.

Good morning! Sunny and 60 out right now. I walked down the road and back. We measured it on the pedometer yesterday and it was.45 miles so I added a bit to make it closer to half a mile. I need the exercise. With all the rain and my arthritis I haven't been out in the yard much. Still have our cough but it's getting less. Tomatoes are still looking good and growing. I'll need to cover them good the next few nights though because the temps will be in 30's. Ouch!
I will need to cover myself good the next few nights, too. Going to do sewing now. Working on small Christmas bags and some aprons.

Good Tuesday morning all! Currently 4°C and sunny. There are still wicked NW winds making it feel a lot colder. Lots of cleanup to do today, and if the winds die down I'd like to do some more cleanup in the garden. Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. It's in the mid 50s now... going up to the mid60s and dropping into the 30s overnight. Same for tomorrow. And then back up to "normal" 50s to 70s. The plants are going to get all confused again. :stew2:

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -3°C and overcast. The winds have finally gone, only to return this evening. My son did his drivers test yesterday and passed (yippee!) only to discover that insurance rates for a teen boy are ridiculous. Needless to say, he is looking for a job  Keeping my fingers crossed that one of the businesses he applied to calls for an interview. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning. Brrrrr.... it was 33F when I left home this morning and there was no frost on the ground or windshield. So no damaged plants this morning that I could see. The skies are clear and our high temps should be in the upper 50s. And will get down to freezing again overnight. Guess I'll be stuck wearing socks and shoes for one more day. :stew2:

It was 26 degrees here this morning. I waited until it got above freezing to uncover the plants. The tomatoes may have gotten some leaf damage. I'm hoping the fruit will be okay. Still another freezing night so will add some extra covering to the tomatoes tonight.

Good afternoon all. Temp got down to 31 overnight here. The really large Cosmos plants are looking a little frost burned and most of the Basil that had reseeded itself this fall is now toast, Jewels of Opar are looking forlorn and the Canna are looking rather mushy (I really wanted to cut them down before the freeze, easier that way)
The perennials appear to be loving the cold snap, there is a lot of color out in the garden still.

But I was able to move the Trailing Mexican Petunia, Creeping Charlie and Queen's Tears into the warmth of the greenhouse in the backroom for protection.

Happy Thursday morning. A little cooler this morning and a light frost which doesn't appear, at a quick glance, to have done any damage. I'll look closer when I get home from work. We'll be warming up to the 60s today and back to the 50-80F range after that.
