Good morning! It's a good thing I gave my plants a little extra coverage last night. It was 20 degrees this morning. The larger tomatoes look to be doing okay when I uncovered them about 9 am this morning. A couple of the smaller ones look like they are kaput though.
Herbs look fine but the basil bit the dust. It's going to warm up again for awhile so maybe they'll be okay for a little longer.

Good morning all. Must have gotten back down to the freezing mark last night again, more of the annuals have taken off for warmer climates. Got a few days of getting warmer, even up around 80 on Sunday then another cold front pushes through on Monday. Still high and dry around here that appears to be our new normal so my choice of plants will be changing with the new season.

Yes, zinnias are frozen, fig trees lost leaves, moon vines are frozen. No more flowers until spring. Only things still around were what I covered.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 4°C and cloudy. At least it's not raining!
Well, I have housework to do and then out to stack some more firewood. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. Lots warmer this morning... it was 55F when I left home and should get up the upper 70s this afternoon. Looking forward to the weekend.... I have a couple of gatherings to attend. Basically I just want to be outdoors in the sunshine!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 8°C and sunny. This is the nicest morning we have seen since at least Oct 18th! Putting my housework on the back burner today so I can go outside and enjoy the day! Have a great day everyone :)

Happy Saturday morning. It's foggy and overcast and warm... 70F already and expected to get up to 80F. Plus there's a slight chance of rain. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance, but if not, that's okay too. As long as I can be outside, I'll be happy. Today's major chore... water everything.

Happy Sunday morning. Warm start to the day again... already 75F. We got a little rain overnight... maybe 1/16th of an inch. There's a 20% chance of rain today. Hope it stays away. The DUCK farm (retreat & eco center) is having one of their gatherings this afternoon.... zydeco band, food, etc. I'm bringing the leaf bird baths that didn't sell at the church last month. Maybe they will sell there (I will donate the money to the charity that this event is benefiting). If not, guess they will be Christmas presents.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 8°C and raining, along with strong SW winds. Weatherman calls for very strong winds tonight and then the temperatures will drop. I did get out and enjoy the beautiful day yesterday, but nice days have been very few and far between. Have a great day all :)

Good way to warm morning all. 72 degrees at 8 a.m. should be in the mid 80's by this afternoon. Cool front moving through tomorrow so the temps should be back down to seasonal 40-65 degree range.

Did some vicarious gardening yesterday. Oldest grandson had been spending a few days with us so yesterday morning I put him to work cutting down the Canna that had been hit by last week's freezes. The Canna bed is about 4 feet x 8 feet so he had a 'you've got to be kidding' look on his face when I first handed him the cutters. But he got right to it and I think actually enjoyed the experience....as much as a 17 yr old boy who doesn't garden can. Then he took all the stems and leaves and put them into the compost barrel out back. I was out there filling the suet block holders and bird feeders and could answer questions about the plants he was seeing so it was fun and sure made me feel better after having been outside for a couple of hours.

Good day all. 65º and stormy today. Stormed pretty good last night, then this morning was beautiful on my drive to work, then storms rolled in again. Supposed to get tornados somewhere in the state.
Im just watching a bit of Star Trek: Enterprise until I have to go to the evening job. Kinda hope the power goes out so I dont have to do markdowns haha

Tornado sirens on :/ Saw a double rainbow!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. We had high winds overnight and it continues to blow, but I won't complain too much after seeing the destruction left behind in the US. Weekend clean up today, skating tonight and a soccer club board meeting. Busy day ahead!

Happy Monday morning. A warm 72F and fog to start the day. Our high temp should be in the lower80s. Which is going to feel like winter compared to the record heat we had yesterday... 90F+!
The temps should be getting back to "normal" as the week progresses. I'll be watering the stuff in the containers again this evening. Seems like summer just won't end.
Good news... I sold my remaining concrete leaf bird baths yesterday making $38 which I donated to a local charity that helps feed the needy. I'll have to make some more next year. :stew2:
