Good Friday morning all. Currently a frigid -28°C and sunny. I am not rushing to go out for my dog walk just yet, I think I'll wait until it warms up at least a few degrees. Today I may finally get around to taking down the Christmas tree and decorations. This is the longest I have ever kept it all up. I just feel like Christmas passed us by this year because we were all sick during the holidays. Hoping to get out later to the free skate at the arena as I got new skates for Christmas and I can't wait to try them out. Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. Last "official" day of my vacation (I go back to work on Monday).
I need to make myself go to bed at my regular time so I can wake up at my regular time instead of staying up late AND sleeping in late. ;)
Last night was supposedly the coldest night of the year with temps down to the mid-20s. The winds seemed to have died down some, thank goodness. And the skies are clear. yippee!
Need to go to the post office and grocery store. Then go by the church to see about setting up a memorial service for my uncle. Plus, one of my cousins unexpectedly passed away yesterday morning... so will be going over there to see what I can do for them.
Then I think I'll sort through my flower photos and save them and then clear out my camera and get ready for a new year full of blooms! :stew2:

Good morning! Birthday is over so it's back to work doing what needs to be done. Tree will come down soon. I need to finish my tea first or it will get cold. Clear and sunny today, into 50's. But, it was only 27 this morning. Frost everywhere.
    Have a great day now!

It's 11 am and only 23* and windy here. Way to cold for me. Hope my cold frame does it's job.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -9°C and sunny. Much warmer this morning, except the strong winds are blowing making it colder. Off to skating with the youngest today - the first thing that indicates things are getting back to 'normal' around here. Have a great day all :)

Happy Saturday morning. Yesterday warmed up nicely. I did get the chance to just sit back in the sunshine and watch the birds and squirrels.
It's right at 50F this morning and beautiful clear skies.
Nothing really planned for the day.
I'm already dreading have to go back to work on Monday. Usually I'm ready to get back to it, but I haven't gotten bored these past 2 weeks. Heck... I didn't even accomplish some of the things I had set aside to do!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -3°C and snowing. We received another 10-15cm of snow overnight and it is still snowing. Sounds like more bad weather moving in tonight, wouldn't the kids love it if tomorrow was a snow day? Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The cold front moved through last night bringing what is supposed to be our coldest temps of the season...so far. Last night was only 30 but tonight and tomorrow night should be down around 15f/-9c deg. Pretty sure my garden is getting browner and browner now, almost no green at all out there....except for the Spiderwort, Yarrow, Artemisia, Indian Hawthorne and surprisingly the Aquilegia chrysantha hinckleyana 'Texas Gold' (it's not at all happy but it's there).

Good morning! Really windy this morning and gray. No sunshine today! It was 70 degrees yesterday. Hope it makes 45 or 50 today. Temps in 20's for the next two nights.

Still hovering around freezing but cloudy so temps might raise. Got out for a few minutes and used my new schuffle hoe and did a little weeding on the north bed of calla lilies. Only the weeds and moss are green. Makes weeding pretty easy.

Hope everyone in the freezing blast zone is staying cozy.

Happy Sunday evening. What a long day! Left home at 9am to take hubby up to work on his cabin... back home at 6pm. Had to go over to aunt's to go thru photos for her daughter's memorial program. Just got home and I'm beat. Decided to unwind at the 'Stew with a good drink. Then it's off to bed and back to work in the morning. I could really use another week off work.
We'll be getting those freezing temps also.... first "hard freeze" of the winter. I'll be leaving the water running in the basin overnight. Sure don't want any busted pipes.
And I only have a few green things out in the garden, if they make it through the next 3 days... I'm gonna add more of them!
    Stay warm everyone.

Happy Monday morning. Well... happy if you're a snowman! :D
It was 25F when I left home this morning. The winds were strong overnight and kept me awake. So much for waking up nice and refreshed on the first day back to work after 2 weeks. I sure as heck didn't want to get out of bed! At least there was no frost, so it didn't take long to warm up the truck.
I'm curious to get home and see what plants that were hanging in are now kaput.
