Good morning all. Well the weather guys were correct, the rain we got last night didn't amount to much just another 3/8ths of an inch. That makes the total in my yard of 1.5 inches so I will be watering every night this week any way.
And no more rain in the forecast for the next 7-10 days but we will most likely end May with 2.125 inches roughly 4 times what we got last month.

Sad thing is none of this rain has raised the water levels on our reservoirs by more than about 5 inches. And when the lakes are 10-25 FEET below normal, that doesn't help much.

Good afternoon everyone. Been to town this morning to do a few errands. Cold here today only about 2 Celsius at the moment. Want to do more work on my flower beds this afternoon and re-pot my Tiny Tim. Then I have to help DH get the strawberry garden prepared. I grew about 200 strawberry plants from seed this spring. Just made more work for myself I think! Have a great day all!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 12°C and foggy. We had more rain last night, now the trees leaves are all starting to open! More rain in the forecast today. I went to 3 greenhouses yesterday looking for purple 'wave' petunia's and couldn't find any. Will be looking at another one today. Bought most of my veggie seedlings and I'm excited for the long weekend! Have a great day all :)

It's about 8C this morning and no sun. The sun has been too shy to come out lately! Getting my baking done this morning so that I can get outside this afternoon. My strawberries are begging to go into the ground. There is a lot of work to do yet to get the ground ready for them. DH has been working hard driving poles so that we can put the seine (fish netting) up to keep the deer out. Then next comes the vegetable garden. Netty, I got my wave petunias at Home Hardware yesterday. I got the purple ones too. Garden center did not have any.

Happy Thursday morning. I think the area set a new record low overnight... it was 46F this morning when I left the house! Normal temps would have been about 65F.
The ground is nice and saturated, but the containers look like they're ready for a drink already.
Netty... I had a hard time finding Wave Petunias too. I did find a few on the markdown rack... but not for sale at regular price. Was the stock just not good enough to sell at full price? Or did everyone buy them up before I even noticed them?

Good Friday morning all. Currently 6°C and overcast, all is wet from the rain overnight. I hope it clears up today, I have a LOT of work to do! Cherylad, I did find a few 'Wave' petunia's, but not the purple ones I usually get. It's still kind of early to plant them here so I don't think they have sold out. There are usually huge racks of them, but not this year for some reason. Odd.
Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. Still nice and cool here with temps from mid50s to low 80s. I did notice that a couple of plants looked like they suffered some shock from cold 40s the other night. :'(
Hopefully the next several days of warmer temps and sunshine will make them perk back up.
Come on work day... be overwith already... I'm ready for the weekend!

Good morning all. Sunny and comfy outside. Temps are slowly creeping up towards the number 90, no rain in the two week forecast....guess that means summer is about to jump out of the bushes and land hot and heavy on my garden.

Leaving on vacation tomorrow morning. No junque collecting this time just doing the touristy thing. Going to Austin for lunch and supper at The Ironworks, tour the State Cemetery and visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. To San Marcos to see the old cars at Dick's Classic Garage. Then to San Antonio to visit the Alamo again, find the cathedral where the bones of the Alamo defenders are interred and wander at night along The River Walk. Then to Johnson City for the best fried Catfish around and on to Fredericksburg to visit Wildseed Farms and probably buy a few seeds and The Herb Market and a few other places....wonder if that great little Pie Shop is still there...and the yarn shop...and the Dooley Five and Dime.

Not taking the computer this time. We will be back Thursday evening.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently just 2°C outside, and sunny. Thank goodness for the breeze or some frost may have settled this morning. Today is the start of a busy weekend of soccer preparation. The weather is too cold to garden anyway, so I won't be rushing home. Have a great day all :)

Happy Saturday morning. Beautiful and breezy with temps from upper 50s to mid 80s today. Just going to do whatever suits my fancy in the garden today. The mowing will wait until tomorrow because it's still a little too wet to get to some spots.

It got cold here last night, 37 and frost, but no snow. Today is cloudy and 59 at present but only peeks of the sun, mostly cloudy. It is to get warmer the first of the week.

Sunny and warm here today. A good day to be outside and the front yard is now mowed and trimmed. Looks much better. I still need to go and put stuff back where it belongs. We can't sit in upside down chairs.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 5°C and sunny. I keep wondering why I wake up earlier on the weekends? A bit of house work and laundry this morning and then its out to the garden. I have a LOT of weeding to do! Have a great day all :)
