Just hubby and me at home this evening, the champagne is chilled and ready to pop.
We'll watch the Rose Parade in the am, but neither of us is interested in football.

Stumbling into the Stew and finding all of you wonderful folks
is definitely in the column labled "good things that happened to me in '06".

Looking forward to 2007, I hope it's happy and healthy for each of you.

Toni, I hope your neighbors  don't get too stupid tonight,
we're hearing some fireworks from down on the beach,
but discharging firearms is strictly forbidden here, thank goodness.

    Evening all!!

WELCOME to 2007 on GardenStew. :D

My poor garden is half destroyed by the gale force winds we're having. I won't know the full extent of the damage until tomorrow as it's too dark to see much at the moment. Our wooden arch is at a 45 degree angle, the hanging baskets (and their brackets) are all over the place, the pond is full of various pieces of litter, plants have been uprooted and a neighbours shed roof is lying on the lawn!! Apart from that it's a mud bath out there. :( What a start to the New Year!!
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I still have a garden tomorrow.

Happy New Year all. Eileen I hope your garden survives, sounds really bad.

The neighbors are doing fireworks here too and the dogs don't like it. Basil is really scared, so I know he could never be a hunting dog, he would be gun shy.

I will have to endure the football all day, but if it is nice I will probably go outside after lunch. It will be too wet to do any gardening, but there is lots to pick up and hopefully some leaf raking.

    Have a good evening all.

I would keep my fingers crossed but then I couldn't type. We may not make it to midnight what with our colds or crud keeping us sneezing and coughing. I'm very happy we are not having gale force winds. I hope you do not have any more things blowing into your garden, Eileen. Or out of it. I wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! No football here either. No parade either. No tv either. Dooley

Happy new year to everyone! Today was one of the nicest days in ages. It was warm and sunny. I strapped on my camera with the fresh batteries and saddled my trusty mount. Down the road she and I went at a pretty good clip to get you all a picture of our beautiful Mt. Rainier. When we got to our spot we just stood and admired the scene. A bluer sky you could not ask for. "This will be a great photo" I thought as I put the camera up to my face only to look through the veiw finder and see that I'd left behind the card. Uhgg. We really had a great ride even though I can't share part of it with you. The forecast for the next five days is stormy so we'll try again another time.

Phew I really think it's time Ian came back from orkney before I completely exhaust myself. :smt045
I was really fed up earlier so I decided to clean out the 'fridge, then the freezer, the the fish tank, the rat's cage, the gerbils tank and the snake's vivarium!!!! The things we women do when we're bored.
Tomorrow I may go out into the garden and have a chat with the birds and my plants - just to see if my voice still works. :D :D

You CLEANED things all day? Eileen, we are definitely NOT related. You may be related to my mother, however.

Good evening all. It's my one evening this week with nothing to do away from home. I left work on time, visited with a friend and her adorable 3 month old daughter. Hubby is now cooking supper as I lounge in my pajamas. I like Tuesdays.
