Good morning Theo, I have grown many hibiscus mutabilis from cuttings. The one I have at the moment is from a cutting. They dont seem to be readily available in nurseries here. Hibiscus mutabilis ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Opens up white ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) Starts to turn pink ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden ) By evening almost all pink ( photo / image / picture from chocolate's Garden )
Yes Cheryl it is gorgeous, grows from cuttings very easily too.Somtimes called 'rose of sharon' here, maybe you could find it there.
I have never seen it before either. I would have to keep it in the greenhouse all Winter. It only goes to zone 8. Barb in Pa.
Ohh... Rose of Sharon.... yep they're available here. I even have some seeds from my sis-in-law... but the flowers are plainer... looks like regular Hibiscus flowers, except smaller. Nothing as fancy as yours! Edited to add: Just looked it up. It's also known as a Confederate Rose down here. Which is different that what I know as Rose of Sharon. What ever it's called... it sure is beautiful.

Theodoros, What does your wife say about all those plants ? where do you put them all when it is too cold outside for them? That is an amazing sight! Your Dutchmans pipe is cool. Is that an outside plant for your zone or do you have to take it in?
Wow. Nice aristo. Funny, and coincidence... I saw a very very tiny bud forming on my aristolochia. Will soon have to bring it in. It's in anyway, on the balcony. I wonder if it's gonna hold the bud. Would be a nice surprise on these cold dark days
thanks for the seeds :-D Carolyn.. My wife does not deal with plants, however She loves to see, this enjoy and likes to see them grow and blossom :-D :-D Many of the plants will put them in the house, many will put it on the balcony and will cover with nylon, some will be left out of the home, somewhere will spoil annual plants, some having bulbs will remove them from the soil, etc. the Dutchmans pipe ,the winter living out of the house, sheltered in part, of course many times many of the tropical plants I have, suffer a lot of damage, however the spring pulls out new branches :-D Calin yes coincidence :-D :-D I hope you bloom your Aristolochia :-D today Datura metel 'Golden Queen' Tradescantia pallida common names include Purple Heart and Purple Queen Tradescantia sillamontana Common Name: Pussy Ears, White Velvet, White Gossamer Plant,Pussy's ears,Cobweb Spiderwort
I really like the yellow Datura. Looks like a burst of sunshine. And I see two more plants that we have in common... Tradescantia pallida ... here they are commonly called Wandering Jew and it's cousin... Tradescantia sillamontana... called Hairy Wandering Jew. I think I like "Pussy Ears" better. :-D I plan on putting some of each in the ground next year to see how they do.
