My wifes Mother passed along the original Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie recipe. They seem to have a time and temperature component that requires carefully watching them bake. I will share it with you when I find it.

What is "groot cherry"? And I agree, that is unusual art work. I suspect you Zigs, had a hand in that!

That pie looks great! My husband has requested a cherry pie for his birthday. I think I'll get creative like you have with the crust.

Sj, I find that using softened (but not melted) butter tends to make the cookies thicker. Also reducing the sugar by 1/3rd tends to make them thicker too. BUT I have never baked in a microwave. I didn't even know you could. I am very impressed with your results. They look delicious. I don't know if my recipe changes would have the same outcome in a microwave.

Please tell your bride I am impressed. (And wish I could do a taste test.)

[IMG]This is a groot - as in my avatar. The cherries were frozen from the shop, and I have no idea which variety. The groot needed to crash through the trellis, thus the total mess! Pristine is not always fun....it wasn't Ziggy's fault - honest.

That microwave is technically called a combi-oven. There is hot air.
I told the Bride and she just beamed from ear to ear. Thank you.
It would be great if you could do a taste test here. We could have a first hand critique. Yeah, that'd be great.

Ah....a combi-oven? A convection oven & a microwave by any chance? If so, that makes more sense to me.

Cayu and Mart— I don’t know what the proper name is for that apparat is. It is a built-in microwave thing that can also heat with a fan blowing hot air. It is what we use to defrost frozen meats and veg as well as warm up croissants. My Bride has recently begun trying to make cookies in it. She has made it clear that she does not like baking, but saw the cookie adventure as a “covid challenge”. Plus she is liking the taste of the results. I just keep threatening to make them all by myself and that seems to encourage her to continue. ;)

When I let her read my posting, she really fussed at me for my use of words, suggesting that my colleagues here would think that I was crackers crazy. Ach, c’est la vie.

Sjoerd, tell your lovely bride that being married to a "crackers crazy" person isn't all that bad. Just ask my husband!:sete_031:

Tell your Bride I like your covid challenge.
And you're no more "Crackers crazy" than the rest of us!
