The trouble with pumpkins

    jane, the stem fall right off during baking. it wont interfere with turning it over.

    Carolyn, your post made me want to run out and get another pumpkin and try the "no stem cutting" method! One can learn so much here (and remember it if the tip gets written down, and one remembers where one's tip sheet is!)

    My stepdaughter cuts them in half removes the seeds and strings and fills them with beef stew before baking ! She says its delicious but I have not tried it ! For small pumpkins just cut the top off !

    Wish I knew if it was as good as she said it is but hubby would think I had lost my mind if I served him such ! He thinks if it doesn`t have gravy on it its not food !
