All this is very new to me.

I have only experienced a little snow and not even a snow-storm yet. Let alone a blizzard, thundersnow and all the kinds of weather talked about here.

In winter we get storms alright, but just cold, rain and wind. Massive gale force winds that causes very high swells at sea. (hence the name Cape of Storms).

Thanks for sharing all your experiences.

I will most certainly do that.
However, we will have to wait a bit till August when the real big ones come.
I remember I once went on the ferry in Table Bay on the way back to Cape Town from Robben Island (This is some 7 years back) and in the Bay itself, practically on Cape Town's doorstep, the swells was so big that at times I could not even see Cape Town itself and it felt like I was surrounded by walls of water.

I am scared of water, but you sound like your not.
Do you ride the waves like on tv?
I love to watch the waves, but hate distruction from them.. No return if your hit..
