    Thanks Odif, I first want to research the tom type and see if I can get them locally if it looks like something for us. Some seed sellers here have literally hundreds of tom types to choose from.

    This may sound bit nuts to you, but it's just the way we do things— make enquires, search the internet for info and testing...and check out dealers. I am afraid that we are limited by our own thoroughness. Haha.

    Grow the tomatoes that suit your climate. Cornu des Andes or my favourite Coeur du boeuf (oxheart) are large fleshy tomatoes, but don’t always do well outdoors here. I am happy with my toms this year though.

    We agreed to participate in a little outdoor tom trial this year. I found it important because we cannot grow toms outdoors in this area. This has, in part to do with the presence of potato fields surrounding us on three sides. It isn’t if our toms and spuds will get phytophthora, but when—so trying to find a strong; and to some degree, resistant tom plant would be be something of great interest to me.

    I agree Sjoerd, I am always looking for resistant varieties.
