I was really lucky this year--the feed store had really beautiful Celebrity tomato starts, so I got three six-packs, then the local nursery ladies gave me a six-pack when I was getting Homestead tomatoes from them. I ended up with 36 plants, in addition to the Opalkas I started myself. The cherry tomatoes from last year self-seeded and I have about a dozen red and yellow pear tomatoes, and at least four of the Sungolds. I'll be canning a lot of tomatoes, and my husband made me a tomato drier for sun-dried tomatoes. Barb, I save containers, and scrub them well and rinse in a 10% bleach solution before planting in them. They usually last at least two years, and work fine under the grow-lights.
