The Amish paste hadn't done too well in my garden the past 2 seasons, so I thought I would try the Jersey Devils instead. Only the Jersey Devils germinated poorly, and I didn't have any backup seeds so the Sicilian Saucer became my canning row this year. I'll try the Amish paste again next season and hopefully they perform better.
It’s a bit bizarre how the temp and moisture is going this year. I was really sorry to hear of your tough luck this year. At least you will success with other types, right? Some of my seeds have been slow to germinate and once set out…slow in developing. I have to stop pulling my hair out or I will become bald. Sheesh! Well, you hang in there, mate.
My dwarf toms are doing well. They had a later start and the first month was chilly here. Their being dwarf, I don't prune off leaves. They usually produce well here. The cardboard mulch protects the low leaves and fruits from soil-splashed diseases. They are blooming now, so I have hope for ripe toms in a month or so.
@Daniel W your toms are lookin great. In the PNW we do have a very short season for growing veggies. Your veggies are fast growing now that the temps have gone nuts…and lots to harvest soon. Stay cool ..
Here are a few foto’s of developing toms, ripening on the vine. I was pleased to see the bunches began very close to the ground. Each plant will have between 5 and 7 bunches— it will be a bumper crop this year. After checking the toms, some of the riper ones had to be picked.
