It was a 1000cc. Was lots of fun for a quite awhile. Then signs of old age started creeping in and it was no longer a comfortable ride. But ohhh... to have one of those big touring bikes they make these days!

I used to have a Triumph 350 and then went on to a 500 too!!

Philip, I am sure you still handle any big bikes :D It must have been interesting while you were in service. Sometime I still think of getting getting one of those bikes! :)

another ex biker,..i think most young people find a motorcycle more appealing than a car,..and there is something about a bike,..being able to get access to areas where a car would not manage is one attraction,..plus that feeling of being a part of the machine in every move you make,..not forgetting the low petrol consumption.

I've always been partial to Harleys myself. I like the sound of them. I only got to ride a small Gilera 50cc, since my parents thought bikes were too dangerous for a small girl. I was a frequent passager on my friends' bikes though, and since I never got my own bike I sort of settled for a horse instead. :D

    Droopy...
I wanted a horse WAY before I wanted a motorcycle.
I'd beg my Dad. He'd say "go ride the neighbor's horse". I'd beg some more. He'd say "Go ride Mr. Freeman's horse".
The I started begging for a motor-scooter. He said "Girls don't ride those!". I'd say... but I'm not just any girl... I'm YOUR little girl. :D
You see... my Dad spoiled me rotten... usually!
Guess what... I never got a horse (or a swimming pool or squirrel monkey...don't ask!). Didn't get a motorcycle until I bought my own for my 25th b-day.
