We are still having milder than normal weather here. It's been up in the mid - 50's here for over a week now. The normal high is 40 for this time of year. Sun. it is going to 63. We are goin to my mother-in-laws for a party and I would just as soon as it be nice weather for that trip.

It seems the weather gone wild in many places around the globe. On friday evening we lost power due to tropical storms - powerlines came down in many places and our street was one of them! Nearly 2 days without power was quite challenging, especially in our heat.
Its all restored now, but the little man on TV recon we'll be having "cold front" from Antarctic before Christmas - should be interesting!

    Keep safe everyone

    Love Lara

We went to my mother-in-laws today for a Christmas party, but as warm as it was we could have easily have had an Easter party. Had anhigh of 63 and a normal high is about 35! Had a good time and ate way to much food!

Yes, the weather has gone mad. We had 70mph winds from 5pm thurs to sunup. We still have power lines down in our pasture from trees. One narrowly missed our barn shortly after all the animals were put away. We spent the day refencing a section so we could turn the animals out yet still allow access for the power company. I feel a bit guilty having my power on since yesterday yet my neighbor does not. I asked if they needed anything and she seemed a little snotty in her reply. It is probably stress.
I lived by myself in a cabin in the woods for three years with no electricity or running water. I absolutely loved the solitude. No light pollution so I could really see the night skies. No radios or other crap to interrupt the peace. I had a nice little hike from my truck to the cabin. My dog Hester was my best friend. The power outages never bother me much as I think I got used to a different lifestyle years ago. The biggest hassle now is storing enough water for the livestock.

Muddy! Good to hear you are ok. Lots of folks around here have trees through their roofs- we just lost a bunch of shingles. And the goat fence broke so the critters were having a good ol' time skipping around the prairie.
Your place in the woods sounds awesome, though I get tired of outhouses in the cold pretty quick.
My son pointed out to me that the ancient Mayan calendar runs out this time next year. So maybe the weird weather is just the ol' planet winding down. Hmph, maybe I won't bother fixing those shingles after all, lol!
