KK, I figured they were not natural. I was just hoping the monsoons would douse their stupid fires. There ought to be other uses for the trees they are burning for sheer greed. Trees can be used to make paper for one thing. They might be lumber. Japan buys tons of our lumber here in the US. It can be made into mulch or other wood products. It is just plain wasteful. I suppose firewood is not needed much in tropical countries. The people doing it do need their rear ends kicked around royally. I doubt that surgical masks do much good at filtering out the crud, and they are uncomfortable to begin with. Smoke from fires in Colorado and California usually reaches Missouri and makes things bad for us too. And it is wildfire season. Then we have charcoal plants not far from here. If the winds are right, we have that to contend with. Connie, there are better uses for old tires if they make the effort. I have heard where they are remelted down and used to make tar for new roads; and there are other uses. Some friends used to cut them into various animal shapes and make swings out of them. Burning them is totally sinful too.
The situation is getting worst here and it is also affecting my veggies. Last night at about 3:00am we were awakened rudely by the very strong acrid smell of smoke. Getting worse!!! ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The buildings in the background can hardly be seen. I fully agree with you AAnightowl, "The people doing it need their rear ends kicked around royally".
unbelievable, KK! How does anyone breathe?. This looks like it would just about kill anyone with breathing issues already. Wow, just Wow!
KK, I'm so sorry that you have to endure this! I sure hope it will be over for you and your neighbors and family soon. :'(
Carolyn we just have to continue breathing to stay alive even though it would kill us!!! Thanks Kay it is much better today and let's hope it is really getting better.
